Convicted killer Christa Pike remains unresponsive but not in a coma following her botched execution, where she was pierced with seven needles, her attorney said.
Pike, 50, is still alive and in critical condition, receiving life-saving medical care after surviving two full doses of pentobarbital, a lethal drug, in a failed execution attempt on Wednesday evening.
Prison officials repeatedly closed the window curtains to shield the death chamber from media and other witnesses, including Pike’s legal team and her spiritual advisor.
The attorney called on Tennessee Governor Bill Lee to commute Pike’s death sentence to life in prison.
Lee has halted all executions in the state for the remainder of the year and called for an independent review into Pike’s attempted execution.

Anybody standing up for her, I would suggest you read what she did to that girl and look at the crime scene pictures.
Keep them in jail for 30 years and then execute them after millions of dollars spent on appeals in one state.
In another state she’d be out after 30 years, and somewhere else she’d get life without parole.
Totally screwed up system.
