Abuse of women has happened throughout history and it is very difficult to escape, and very difficult to stay free from the abuser. At least there are safe houses for mothers and children today. It must have been  devastating for women back then. 😢😢😢

Well, I am sure there was a lot of that with arranged marriages  back then. Probably  a few now days . Not as many.  Glad she had someone  on her side with money  to make a difference  Jk.

👎 This story is missing parts.  Was she paid reperations for her injuries?  Did sir Reginald receive punishment?  What was the final judgement of the trial?  Did she ever find a man to marry that would treat her well?
