“Optics planet has everything you need…..on back order.” So true

I also wear my shirts until they have a bacon neck 🤝🫡

The little knob on the magnifier is an adjustment tool (windage/elevation) for Holosun optics.  It just unscrews.

that solar panel Def isn't a gimmick. It is the forward assist of optics. Don't need it until you do

5:48 The AEMS has a supercapacitor of 12mAh which allows it to run at dot-only medium light setting for up to 2400 hours. There have been accounts of people who installed it on their guns and ran it for months, only to realise later on they actually forgot to insert a battery all this time.

Be aware that it only recharges its supercapacitor and not the inserted battery, and the sight will always consume the supercapacitor's charge before switching over to inserted battery if the internal charge is dry.

If you want to learn more about whether or not a red dot from Holosun has a supercapacitor, check their EU website. It has more information than the US one for some reasons.

This might be the first time I get to disagree with you about something, lol. I'm a pretty big fan of the AEMS. I agree on the price and would suggest to be patient and wait out for a solid deal like I did. The tint isn't any worse than an Aimpoint PRO to me, and the claims of it being nice with NV I can confirm, being a big factor for me personally. That's pretty high praise being that I'm comparing its performance to other optics I have that's popular with NV such as the Eotech EXPS3, Aimpoint Comp M4s & T2, and even a Vortex Huey. Thanks for the heads up on the mount. The mount itself seems robust, but that detent attachment point I did wonder if it risked slipping with a hard enough impact. For that reason, I gobbed loctite on the threads to double up on securing it. The AEMS is on a 6" 300blk build, and it gets banged around a lot through transport. It travels with me daily for work. But it hasn't been dropped straight on the optic yet, such as in your testing. Zero has stayed on mine with "practical" mistreatment. As always, love your unbiased content. Even if it doesn't always match with mine. This time, being the first 😎

One aspect of the Holosun AEMS you didn't mention or use is the Solar Panel ONLY functionality.  Without a battery, the optics is still VERY useable.  In part because there is also a strip of Super-Capacitive material inside that provides additional power & control over the brightness settings.  In fact, I used my first AEMS for over a day before realizing the battery wasn't installed!

Man, you are one of the last honest reviewers left on this app

Love reviews like this. I can hear what others are complaining about and decide if I even care about the small things people choose to worry about. Good stuff right here!

the knob on the magnifier is a tool used to adjust the magnifier

I use the circle-only configuration at 25 yards. No problem aiming full center. In fact, I find it better because I can better see the bullseye than when there's a tiny shiny dot

The screw on the rear of the magnifier mount is a tool that unscrews for adjusting windage and elevation. I took mine off so I could get my magnifier one slot back, and now my BUIS, magnifier and optic all sit on the upper reciever perfectly (optic is a holosun 512c) otherwise my optic would have to mount on the handguard

Imagine the upgraded magnifier being an actual downgrade in every way expect material and weight. Lol. I love the original 3x magnifier from holosun. I’ve got it paired with the 510c

Info on HOLOSUN magnifiers paired with AEMS red dots are very scarce. Thanks!
I called HOLOSUN and asked to buy a pair of spare lens covers for my AEMS. The said they would send them for free. When they arrived there were TWO pair in the envelope. GREAT customer service. Thanks HOLOSUN
I have my AEMS on a RUGER PC chassis carbine. IMHO the AEMS is the BEST PCC carbine "red dot" sight.
BTW,  on my RUGER PC chassis model I needed to put a snap-on 1/4" high cheek piece to get perfect eye alignment with the AEMS. A quick and inexpensive solution and it also gave me perfect alignment with my MBUS backup sights.

Your channels so underrated dude. Freaking sick intro and super informative.

I love my AEMS, hated the mount so went ADM, I would have just done another EOTECH because that is the form factor I like for the intent of the gun it’s on but having to turn it on and adjust it for a bump in the night pushed me to the AEMS.  It’s very good for that purpose.

I just bought the AMES and the HM3X-T today, so far they are working great on my AR, highly recommend them. :)

The knob you referred to when talking about your iron sights and how you cannot get the magnifier close to the irons is in fact a tool that unscrews out and the tool is to adjust your magnifier.

Wow, my chidlhood song, from 40 years ago! Nice start to the video
