EDIT: In the intro I made (unfortunately) a mistake. AS Roma was not founded to resistance of Mussolini's regime- but by the will to compete as a strong team in Italy. I want to extend my apologies to anyone who I offended with that. Also: in the intro I state: Lazio was known to have a reputation of Fascism. I think all the photo's and videos of early days speak for themselves. It has to be said this is a SMALL minority and the Lazio fans I sat with were all very kind and welcoming. I DID NOT notice anything of what media articles have written about it in the current days during my visit and with that the video speaks for it selves;)

Thankyou for showing me the support guys, it means the world to me and I love reading all your comments and messages❤

00.55 WHAT?
"United symbol against mussolini"?
This is completely false.
You invented from nothing.

6:21 I was visiting from the US and went to the match. I have been to matches in many countries but NEVER experienced anything like this. It was WILD.

You have to tell the story well. Roma was founded by the fascist hierarchy and, to give a "national" sense to the Italian football championship, which at the time was divided into northern, central and southern groups, a reform was made from which the strongest teams were chosen, which deserved the national division, compared to those that should have ended up in the first division. Lazio, which was the first team in Rome, ended up directly in the National Division, the ONLY team in Rome, both for the Roman titles won and for its fame and also because it had its own stadium, the Rondinella. The other teams (Fortitudo, Alba, Roman, Audace, etc...) were therefore excluded. It was for this reason that fascism wanted the merger with Lazio, to ensure a place in the National Division after which they would have changed the name and colors of the new creature making Lazio disappear, only to acquire its place in the top series and the stadium to play in. It was just opportunism. But General Giorgio Vaccaro, a general of the militia, symbolized by the eagle by roman times, prevented the merger. So Roma was born in Serie B, and the fascist hierarchy, to solve the problem, invented the reform of the Italian football championship, expanding the number of participating teams from 20 to 22, and then Roma was fished out and brought back to Serie A for "political will". As for political will and favors of the hierarchy, they won their first Italian title in 1942, thanks to the approach to Rome of some athletes (who were then decisive in winning the championship) who were to be transferred to barracks in other cities. Yet if you listen to the Roman fans, who are very saddened by being born 27 years later, the will of the merger was on the part of Lazio, but that's not the case, Lazio had already existed for almost 30 years and had been chosen for the top division, it had no interest in merging also because it was awarded the title of "Moral Entity" by the King of Italy. Furthermore, Lazio Calcio is one of the sections of the largest sports club (Polisportiva) in the world. Roma is a simple football team created by fascism, supported by finance, which inherited the colours of the ghetto (the colours of Roman) and is always protected by the mass media because it is now in the hands of a bank that must show it to the world as "a product to sell" having gone bankrupt for some time. The distinction between teams of the rich or the working class was created by the political will of the information of the time, there is no distinction and if Lazio was born in the North of Rome for Roma the Testaccio area was chosen as the "base", a stone's throw from the synagogue. It is ironic to see that in their banner in the south curve they say "one team, one shirt" when Roma was born from a myriad of teams and the shirts are many, many more than three. For example, the Roman shirt is missing, which was the team of the ghetto, which they always try to hide and from which they distance themselves. It is also ironic to know that no one knows where Roma was born. It is not clear what day it was born: it seems to be June 4th but the Romans have been celebrating for a lifetime a month later, on July 22nd and perhaps it is right, being late in the birth by 27 years it is also right that they celebrate 27 days later. And finally their plaque is in the birthplace of the founder (in Corropoli, Teramo), who was a fascist hierarch (Italo Foschi) who is even from Abruzzo and not Roman. It is not the name that makes the city but when you have power and mass media behind you deriving from a regime you deceive the world. For example they say that the fascists are only the Lazio fans when in the end the true product of fascism is AS Roma. To understand Rome you should spend a lifetime there, and 4 interviews do not do it justice. Anyway welcome to Rome brother.

Thanks for showing the best club in Rome! Forza Roma

If you were surprised by the as roma fans in the derby, look what they made for the match against athletic bilbao. I think that u will be satisfied 👍🏻😁

Nice video but I have to correct you: Roma was founded by the will of Mussolini, who wanted one big team in Rome to compete against the northern clubs, initially in the fusion also Lazio was meant to participate. But after some disagreement Italo Foschi (founder and first president of As Roma) excluded Lazio. So As Roma was founded not against fascism, and sadly both Lazio and Roma ultras (as most of Italy) are extremely right. Ps. I love your videos, I tryed one time to get you tickets for Roma-Feyenoord I don’t know if you remember. I would like to invite you in Curva Sud one time…

Je hebt wel een hele mooie wedstrijd bezocht. Ik ga af en toe naar AS Roma en vind daar geweldig. De sfeer van de derby vind je bijna nergens anders meer.

lovely derby

00:55 AS Roma was founded in 1927 by Italo Foschi, an important Roman representative of the ruling National Fascist Party.  Lazio was the only major Roman club which resisted the Fascist regime's attempts to merge all the city's teams into what would become AS Roma the same year.  Foschi claimed their ground, as Lazio was the only Roman club with a decent football infrastructure.

Insane video bro I love your content looking forward to see you again in Marseille

Incredible Derby. Greatly captured 💪

In Italy it's normal that in other cities, the shirts of the other teams or rivals are sold i don't know why.

07:07 you sit near the Curva Sud, it's normal it's much louder, because you're 125 meters away from the Curva Nord, next time choose a spot in the middle of Tevere ;)
