What Do We REALLY Know About Circus Baby?! | FNAF Theory

Elizabeth Afton and Circus Baby are simultaneously the most and least well understood characters in Five Nights at Freddy's to be honest. On one hand we have SO much information about them, their motivations, and what they do. But at the same time the majority of information about them, while being treated as fact, is actually just speculation.

Baby keeping her promises in both SL and HW2 is a rare quality in Fnaf. She promised Mike he wouldn't die for helping her, he didn't die, she somehow triggered the remnant he was injected with, keeping him alive. She promises the player an Ice Cream if they beat her game, she genuinely gives him one, no lies, no trick upon his success. She's as honest as she is manipulative, which is a rare trait in Fnaf. She has a 100% record of keeping her word when making a promise, even Henry doesn't have that as he changed the deal at the end of Fnaf 6 on a whim, making him 50% honest. William Afton is entirely dishonest, manipulative and money grubbing and the other animatronics don't make deals at all.

Your mention of how clean the possession is makes me realize something.

Of all the possessions so far, only three can really be called clean: Charlie, Elizabeth, and William himself. The others are "like animals". The common tie here is that not one of these three was intentional. That was probably an annoyance for William that he just couldn't seem to replicate the only two perfect possessions until he got springlocked.

I wonder if a freshly opened pint of ice cream would feel any pain at all 😔

Can’t wait for the Fall Fest Fire to have been a result of a Dragon animatronic

"There's a piece of me in every body"
Elizabeth was split between the other Funtimes, combining into Ennard allowed the other spirits kick out all of Elizabeth, eventually leading to molten freddy as a group of Funtime victims and Scrap baby as pure Elizabeth

I personally like to think baby in ucn is elizabeth herself, mainly because of her "i guess you forgot about me" lines (there's apparently actually two versions of it in-game for some reason)
Since elizabeth thinks henry is william all the way to the ending that means she and william never interacted in the whole game despite both being active together for several nights, in other words william just outright ignored her the whole game
That line from ucn is her sadly acknowledging that she was wrong about her father, not only does he not care about her but he outright forgot she existed, and so she turns against him and helps the vengeful spirit and everyone else in ucn torment him

I love how the thumbnail art casually fixes every single problem with Circus Baby's canon design, for no reason

I don't think anyone has noticed this, why does circus babys lines at 6:39 slowly get louder and louder

I really wonder if Elizabeth’s death was an accident. If you think that William was willing to experiment on Micheal and set up experiment chambers for children in attempts to recreate the possession he witnessed happening to the puppet and golden Freddy. He knew that his young daughter would of course want to play with baby and he told her to “stay away” to make it more taboo and exciting. I wouldn’t put it past him to mean for Elizabeth to posses her.

We know Baby was designed to separate children from their parents, either through kidnapping or fatal violence.
I still maintain there was no way Afton designed a huge claw to shoot out violently and stuff a child into a chest hatch, without considering it might be fatal. Especially since he would still have a use for a fresh corpse in Remnant/Agony experiments. So even if Baby was intended to keep her victims alive, that first disaster obviously didn't end her usefulness to him. Because even once he noticed that Baby was possessed, he didn't separate her from the others or stop sending her out to collect kids. Almost like killing his daughter was an acceptable glitch.

Never accept Ice Cream from strange animatronics

Question to ponder on: Why did afton say he made baby just for her? Knowing what baby can do, for what reason is that for her in any way? Could just be to placate her but maybe that's worth exploring

still my favorite character after all these years

@candXy.sweetie 6 months ago

Tbh? Even if the info we have may be one of the most clear & direct characters, I think you did an awesome job defining her character!!

The only thing I think it's super pertinent to mention, at least for me, is the WHY she & the Funtimes had a disagreement, why she was so certain that it was William who called:

- it's clear she doesn't see Afton like Mike does for example, she loves him, she is naive & doesn't really see his bad persona after a mere second of good actions, she's a kid

- with this, considering Henry had to make something appealing for her to show up, ofc she would assume it's her father, it's a subconscious desire for paternal love!

- with Henry's PEAK speech we can understand that William was NOT a good person. She may have gave up her spirits & moved on, rested, bc she finally understood that it wasn't worth it to pursue that chase for a father figure that would never, & never did, exist!

Imagine an icecream cone with Baby's hair

I think the reason Elisabeth possesses Circus Baby so fully is because she has no true Agony. Her final moments were presumably very happy, playing with the gift her father made for her. She wasn't tortured. She wasn't killed unfairly. In her mind, dad is still a kind man who just made a few mistakes. That's why she's still mostly herself despite the nature of her possession: she had Agony in death to bond to the animatronic, but no Agony beyond that to control her. The Puppet in UCN also sorta references this by saying that the others are "like animals" likely due to the Agony of not even remembering how they died.

So Henry used William's voice to bring Scrap Baby to the Pizzaria, he used Charlie's Lullaby to lure the Puppet into Lefte, maybe Michael's voice for William, and maybe William's voice for Molten Freddy so those spirits can fight him?
