The duality of women: cutesy thing, POWER TOOL, soft blanket, WOODWORKING STUFF, another cutesy thingy, SLABS OF WOOD

Pichi loved the toys--it's been a few months and we still find them strewn around the house every morning.

Rachel: ranting about Jun not having body odor
Jun: busy filming cat

TSA: "ma'am your suitcase is so heavy, what's in it- a rock??"
Rachel: 😅

I totally understand Jun's "it smells foreign" lol
Sometimes certain countries use aromas that just aren't used at all in your country and your nose goes "what is this?????"

The TSA agent was probably like "wait we have to che-... Nevermind, white woman". My cousin who works at LAX has so many crazy stories about white women with outrageous yet legal stuff in their bags. Craziest thing was a live goliath tarantula that the lady forgot to declare and they saw it moving in the X-ray machine, the guy was arachnophobic and screamed.

Hellllooooo Rachel!! just wanted to say your blanket might be yellowed because it was touching plastic for a long time. I watched archiving videos for clothes about this. Plastic is apparently bad for fabric, particularly white fabrics. So museums like Victoria and Albert use paper instead and advise that important clothes like wedding dresses should be stored in paper or they will yellow. This might be the culprit for you too!

rachel just casually bringing back rocks and slabs of wood in her suitcase 😂 typical wood elf behaviour lol

The "love papa" killed me, my grandpa passed away December and gosh my heart hurts. I miss my papa im glad you are very loved.

Most of the time we go for japanese products as they are advertised to be in better quality so this is really an eye opener that there are things Japan needs to step up on too.

Rachel literally went home and brought back like half of her state in her suitcases 😂😂 that must've been so freaking expensive cos that'd have weighed so much! 😮 also mad props for your packing game, that was some mad item tetris right there 👏

The sweater from your great grandfather is the sweetest thing. I bet he'd be so happy you wanted his sweater :) Sidenote: I hope you had the best visit back home and seeing your family. 5 years is a long time.

0:43 Rachel calmly explaining her holiday while Haku wreaks havoc on her hair 😂

yo that WALNUT is a CRAZY GET. Walnut is such a good and expensive wood and that slab had a perfect live edge and the grain was so UNIFORM too. also very cute socks I like the bbq hedgehog

I‘m German and can confirm that ‚pusten‘ means to blow. I‘ve said things like ‚vorsicht heiß, erst pusten‘ (caution hot, blow first) to children before 😊

Seeing you unpack your childhood items reminded me of doing the same. I had already 'moved out' years before but that final move of things that had stayed behind was like closing a door on my childhood and realising that house was actually not my home any more.

To add onto the Coach bag, if there's ever any damage or repairs needed, you can always go to a Coach store and pay for repairs to be made! They have each repair as an individual purchase, such as fixing tarnished hardware or repainting the edges of the handles. Cheers and enjoy your spoils!

Plus that Reader's Digest book is an amazing start to furthering your sewing journey! That's one of my textbooks from when I was getting my BFA in Fashion. :face-red-heart-shape:

Rachel: What?
POKI: MAHHHHH

The fact that Rachel received a lot of work tools and materials from her grandfather makes me imagine him as this legendary, mythical red bearded blacksmith who lives in another realm, forging weapons, armours, and chariots for the gods.

As a German I'd say maybe watch some content on German culture, like behaviours and mannerisms and stuff, I bet you'll find a lot of little things passed down your family that might actually be just really German things.
I've watched this house searching show once and they did international moving as well and there was this family from the US that moved to Berlin. I think the husband's parents or grandparents were German and when they revisited the family after them living in Berlin for a while the wife was like "all these small oddities I always thought were just things my husband does, turned out to be really German things many of them do!"
