Hello Lee. Interesting to watch you work and your approach. Keep it up. You might consider using a vise if you can, to squeeze bearings into position. Even using a soft mallet you can distort the needle bearing cage, or risk dislodging needles. Cheers.

You should try using Electrolysis for rust removal on some of your parts, it's great for removal of rust with no damage to the metal, look it up on YouTube.

I use spray-on Hammerite myself. Hang the bits on a wire. Three thin coats (waiting a minute or two in between). Then 24 hours a warm place. Looks very good.
My lesson for this week? The seats don't like it when you put your knee into them, when working at the back of the engine bay from inside the car. The rubberised string mesh beneath will tear. Can't get replacements. So used ordinary upholstery webbing. It's working so far. May need rethink.

Hi Lee, great stuff! have you tackled changing the thermostat housing? I’m having real issues trying to fit the new OEM stat housing into the metal water pipe & casing (behind the water pump) the new part is 1mm wider both ends, just wondered if you have had  the same issue? I ordered the part from rimmer bros so I’m surprised it’s not fitting. I was thinking of sanding down the ends but wanted to check if you’d experienced this too. Thanks again for your videos & channel

Hi I notice you always use alot of elbow grease getting the parts cleaned. what I would say would help is Potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide (oven cleaners) you can buy them in 5l for really cheap and you just spray on and wipe off they remove all that grime and rust instantly. I'm a cleaner for a living (that's why I already had them) and I use those on my MGF while restoring it and they work great.

PS: telling you this so you release more video's quickly as I'm using you as a guide for my car lol

Great video but not sure if you have fitted to the subframe yet as you have to disassemble again to fit it.

Your MG will be much better than the stock new one 🙂 Why you don't paint this parts by powder coating?
