Thanks so much!

that sram patent is stupid.

Honestly. using the same battery in different devices is what literally every consumer device ever did up until li ion batteries became a thing.

If you’re annoyed by not having identical batteries, complain to SRAM and US patent authorities who grant stupid patents like this.

Huh, didn't expect them to lend you guys another groupset after your previous review

that Wilier is such a gorgeous bike

Campagnolo is back in the game..👍🙏

Guys - the "thumb shifters" are only thumb shifters when you're on the drops, which is where you'd want another set of shifters. If you're on the hoods , just rotate your wrist a bit and hit the button with your index finger. It's almost like they meant to do it. When you try it, it makes so much sense.

Wait, SRAM has a patent that makes it so nobody else can use identical batteries? That's the most "I have weight to throw around" thing I've ever seen in cycling gear.

so pleased by the positive reviews.... just ordered 2 x 13 Record!

As a guy still using that gorgeous 11 speed mechanical campagnolo super record I`m SO happy they are back to doing great products

Nice to see Max being a Campag fan boy. I am too! ❤

I just got my son an older (circa just after the Pantani era) Bianchi with Campagnolo Centaur. Almost a quarter century of miles on it and it shifts better than my modern Dura-Ace

I do ride mainly Shimano, but I have an old Bianchi with Campagnolo. It might be the oldest groupset out of all the bikes I have, but dang it works and feels well. Apparently it's entry level Campa, but it feels more direct than my new mechanical 105 bikes.

I have very long hands+fingers. So even when on the hoods, I can wrap my fingers around the hood (behind the lever) and reach the thumb shifter. I think running narrow bars so your hands are more around the side of the shifter-hoods and not right on top also helps with this. But I suspect I'm an outlier with hand size.

Looks god tier

Campa is the first brand who really gives gearing options for normal drivers with lower FTP 😂 (220w in my case). Shimano is the same like usual, sram is a lot more flexible, but campa is amazing. 48/32 with 10-33 or maybe even 11-36 if you want to climb more (max speed still pretty OK). Or even closer ones with 10-29 with amazing shifting (only 1 or 2 step  jumps)

I didn’t find the different batteries as a big issue, since you don’t need a charging dock like SRAM. You can just carry the small USB-C campy cable with you, quickly recharge the drained battery with you phone for 5–10 minutes, and easily continue your ride!

The thumb shifter 'issue'? When my hands are on the top of the bars like when I've just crested a climb and need another gear, I just use the back of my finger. I mean, your finger's right next to it. Might as well just push against the lever and make the shift. And if your hands are wrapped around the hoods, you can easily just grab them from the bottom with whatever finger you have nearby. I've shifted with my ring finger.

I should mention that the thumb shifters are, of course, electrical, and that means that they do not share the mechanical Ergopower's range of motion. Mechanical version follow one plane of action to effect a shift. Because these are electrical connections, you can push them down, and you can push them in. You can push them down and in. Anything works, really. Positive action, too.

Amazing review, very objective the points you took, thank you for this content

They also have some cool battery tech… keep a battery cable in your tool bag and use your phone to boost the battery back up. SRAM doesn’t do that!
