In this video I jump on the shortest flight in the Caribbean to the nearby island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. Vieques is known for having the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world. Today I visit the boardwalk in Esperanza, eat some delicious food, and ride horses in the ocean at Playa Negra, the black sand beach. I also share the cost of everything.

Nice video.
Was stationed on Vieques 1980-81 at the Ammo Depot.
Did fly to the British Virgin Islands for a weekend, on arriving back on Vieques i had to go thru "Customs ", had two bottles of alcohol and Officer said i could one import one, wanted to "confiscate " one for himself. I showed him the rules and when he wouldn't budge i insisted he call his boss, suddenly he gave up and let me go on my way. But overall...really good people live there. Even the communists working for Security and the U.S. Gov't were friendly ( except once a year for the, then, annual Yan-kee Go Home protests / demonstration when their commie bosses would come over for a few days, keeping up appearances ). Good times . . . ☆

Hi my friend, my husband and I would love to discover the island of Vieques next time we go down. Where do you recommend we stay? My grandfather was originally from there so it’s going to be really special.
