Everybody needs to know about the ileocecal valve. It's rarely talked about, and can be the root cause. My ileocecal started being inflamed 2 years before the digestive symptoms got really bad.

This has been the most informative episode for me. I have methane dominant and it literally feels like a blockage is stuck in me and can’t go out. I’m trying to go to integrative medicine because my regular doctor isn’t really helping and basically said constipation is my cause. Trust the patients first! I know it is the other way around like she said in the episode.

Currently following Dr. Siebecker's "homemade elemental diet." Day 2 of 14. I've been suffering from Methane SIBO for TEN YEARS and I am willing to do anything. I've done ALL the other treatments. Feeling incredibly grateful that I found Dr. Siebecker!

21:20 how to get bowels moving remedies.

I have methane sibo I have been trying to get rid of it for three years just recently figured out I have it. I gained about 6 pounds and I have kidney fibrosis as a result of it, and I also have neurological swelling and fibromyalgia as a result.

Slippery elm bark works for consipation, 1  little sp. in hot cup of  water,  morning and evening on empty stomach

I’m the oddball who has methane dominated sibo and have had severe diarrhea since 11/24.  Things are not well with my body per my hair, nails, iron and now I have metabolic acidosis. I argue with my GI dr he swears I have constipation, I wish I did I hate this!

Posting to this a year late but I thank you so much for this content. I’ve been dealing with recurrent hydrogen and methane SIBO for 6 years. Most of my clinicians don’t have much info on methane SIBO so, up until recently it’s been a struggle to get it clinically treated properly. I have never had diarrhea. Always chronic constipation which has led to a lot of issues “downstream”, requiring surgery.
Not sure if anyone else has this symptom but I have substancial swelling of my entire torso after making a bad food decision, which causes  a lot of fluid buildup. My weight fluctuates 10-15lbs in a given week depending on what I’ve eaten. It’s hard to get an accurate measurement of what my real body mass is, unless I do very long fasts and eat a strict ketogenic diet.
It was initially hard to get in for testing because even though I have most of the classical SIBO symptoms I also have weight gain or dramatic weight fluctuation.
This video was very informative.

Thanks for a great podcast!
A Godsend for a formerly fit, athletic ,never had a serious illness or been to hospital (apart from tonsils as a child) 62 y/o.
Then SIBO-went from 74KG to 64 over 2 months. Loads of blood tests-all normal.Went to a naturopath, did breath test a few weeks later Methane at 71PPM.

I have been struggling with gut issues since 2020 I went from Dr to Dr i got treated for HP with antibiotics but SIBO is not easy to get rid of and it really made my life miserable, isolated, depressed weight gain, skin issues, hair loss, weak nails, weak teeth, acid reflex, fatigue, brain fog all I think is when this will be over.

Hydrogen sulfide : I had a flare up last week after eating yoghurt 2 days running.  I was in no doubt the gas rising up.  I was producing it like an efficient factory.  Thankfully that pointed me toward treatment preference.  I’m on histamine biphasic with an antimicrobial tincture and activated charcoal for die off symptoms.

Thank you thank you!  So so informative!  I just got diagnosed with methane dominate. It’s so confusing. This helped so much.

Incredible episode. Thank you so much. This information empowers me as I am healing my IMB/SIBO ❤

Currently being treated for this. I can attest to the anxiety part. It seems to mess with my nervous system somehow. It is short lived tho, ~5-10 mins, 30-40 mins after eating heavy carbs and fatty foods. My stomach gets super huge, and the burping is insane. Currently taking Neomycin and Xifaxan at the same time. My constipation seems to be resolving and I'm not even finished with the treatment. I was convinced it was my gallbladder, but after getting the breath test, it came back positive for Methane SIBO.

I have sulfur in my gut. I get diarrhea. Now, I am in a low sulfur diet, and checking to see if help. I need to talk to Dr Pimentel in LA to see if I can get a consultation, because I am going crazy.

I don’t know if anyone will see this since video was posted two years ago- I am being treated for breast cancer and have had chronic UTI also so antibiotic several times . Also scan dyes for the cancer . I have developed chronic constipation gas bloating that makes me look 6 months pregnant so even tho not tested for SIBO I believe I have developed in last two years . I have a gluten free diet and use probiotics and prebiotics and have now started using magnesium three times a day along with senna just to have a bowel movements . Unfortunately regular medicine is not equipped to address this and only offers laxatives to address. I don’t eat any junk food and my diet is really clean . I am desperate for treatment and testing as I am only 102 lbs and look like a watermelon with two toothpicks stuck in it. I have also developed hemorrhoids that bleed . I already take Berberine also. I also have a ulcer and I think the ulcer medicine makes it worse but I can’t take peppermint or oregano as my stomach can’t handle it . I need a specialist to address asap . Do you do telehealth and testing ? Please advise . Thank you in advance for your answer . And sorry for so much detailed information.

I have terrible acid reflux to the point of developing respiratory problems. I learned that I also have methane dominant sibo and hearing that there is a backwards motion with methane dominant makes so much sense. So hard to digest foods and it sits in the stomach way too long

artichoke extract and ginger root extract are the best prokinetics out there!

hi i have hidrogene 299 and methane 35 sibo and the doctor gave me Rifaxamin 550 twice a day for 14 days only no neomicine, i still bloat over everything and cant eat and im on day 11 of treatment, i just bought oregano oil and probiotics to help out

I had a gastric torsion 28 years ago. I have the best gastroenterologist in the area. He really had no idea what to do with me. I remained hospitalized until they decided to put in a “peg-tube”. I tried numerous medications, specifically the acid blockers. I’ve taken them for almost 30 years until I go so sick and tired of feeling as my food was sitting in my gut undigested. I was prescribed propulsid and I never felt better! It was taken off the market here in the US and I was back on the acid blockers. My gastroenterologist has never mentioned the possibility of SIBO to me. I’m a NP and I’m in a group of NPs. The hive minds suggested that this might be my problem. I reside in a small town and I don’t know if I can get tested for SIBO. I decided to go off the acid blockers and the heartburn has been fierce! I’m using digestive enzymes and so far so good. Sorry for the long post.
