Happy new year and welcome to my first build of 2017!

This video covers building and weathering Bandai's 1/12 scale Shoretrooper Squad Leader from The Battle of Scarif in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

I had a couple of issues along the way but it seemed to work out in the end!

Bought 2 sets to make 1 officer and 1 trooper. Seen this video at least 3-4 times and think I'm ready to start the build. Thanks for making this video, it gives me inspiration and allow me to see the eventual outcome.

As soon as I saw the decal shape, I thought "Thats not going to work" hahaha. Paint looks great, much better choice. Great build. Cant wait for the next one.

Nice attention to detail, you did good. Will they, meaning any kit maker, ever release an Imperial Guard kit? Not much out there on the Internets.

Just got back into making model kits. I have never seen these kits before. They look like a lot of fun to make. Time to start dropping hints for my birthday. Lol

I did the Bandai Millennium Falcon all with Walthers Solvaset and the decals did snug down. I couldn't have done it without the Walthers. It's definitely worth it. Great job!!!

Not sure why he didn't try using the decals. He had that bottle to help soften it but didn't use it at all in the video.

I just had an idea for a base for one of these Scarif troopers. Use some type of resin to simulate water. You could have their feet or more of their legs in the resin so it looks like they’re walking through water. I think they do that in the movie. You could probably dye the resin and use something to make ripple effects, etc. Not sure how much work that would take, but that’d be really cool looking. I’d do it if I had any skill at this stuff.

It's too bad that Bandai isn't more widely available. They make very nice Star Wars Models. Your paint and weathering is once again spot on! Great Job! Regards, Solomon

Man, that's really nice. I would've thought you'd need to actually paint that armor to lose the plastic effect, but the matt varnish did just as well.

Is it Me or does it feel like Christmas everytime We get a new video from Model Chili?

Wow, the finished product looks fantastic! I've never painted my kits but this makes me want to

I was sooo hoping you would give those blue arm decals a chance. The Microsol should have softened it enough to lie flat and conform, I really wanted to see if it did. I have the model coming tomorrow, I will give the decals a try, let you know what happens.
