It’s almost like restricting the model’s output domain to the actual domain of interest is more efficient than using language as an intermediary. 🤣

"Magic 8 ball as-a-service", what a time to be alive!

I can't believe we are now seeing If Predicates as a Service :)

Look at all the AI tools I'm not using. Look at them, Anakin.

The 3 states of OpenAI seeing Jev: 1. Deny it works. 2. Hire the devs. 3. Ship o3-ternary-preview by Friday. -ChatGPT

Claude, enjoy this video for me. Recap with a one sentence summary of how I would have felt if I watched it myself.

Jev is short for Junior Dev

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them. -Frank Herbert (Dune)

The weirdest thing about JEV is that there's already an open weight model that is just as good or better: laya, and the irony is that its research is from September 2025. EDIT: well, it seems I said something that was wrong, which sure explains why I got so many likes. Apparently Laya isn't the best one, and there's already plenty of alternatives on HF. See the replies and check them out instead.

is the poop in the pants a hyrox reference?

mah nem eh jev

I agree, first AI model that is actually useful for developing around it. Imagine getting JEV to make NPC decisions in a game like Skyrim, instead of having them all scripted to simulate actual decision making. Now your unarmed NPC baker can actually live a life close to what an actual unarmed baker would have, instead of running face first into a pack of wolves in the middle of the night on a sketchy road...

a wise man once said "It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead!"

This feels so much like an undisclosed ad it hurts

Jev has a huge marketing budget for sure!

I miss when coding news wasn’t all just people telling AI to do stuff for them

"My name is JEVV!!"

Oh, good, we've gone from game slop demos, to gameplay slop demos

Every youtuber ends up in a situation where they transition from making videos about things they are excited & passionate about, to making videos about things because everyone else is.
