On this journey, we embark on one of the most important routes in the history of Brazilian road transport: the traditional line between Garanhuns (PE) and Recife (PE), operated by Auto Viação Progresso.
Far beyond a simple bus trip, this route holds enormous historical value. It was precisely between Garanhuns and Recife that João Tude de Melo started, in 1934, the first regular bus line in the Brazilian Northeast, giving rise to the company that would later become Auto Viação Progresso, founded in 1932.
