Speedrunning Minecraft, but we each control 1 button

I gathered 32 speedrunners into a room in real life to attempt the challenge of speedrunning minecraft, but we can each only press 1 button.

Huge shoutout to Sivianox for making this possible. He provided a room at his uni allowing us to make this happen, as well as all the camera equipment & the pc. This would not be possible without them.

32 brain cells vs basic minecraft movement in a nutshell

Actually getting 32 players all together irl at once, who have each dedicated thousands of hours to speedrunning, just to delegate them to a singular key, its perfect.

I cant believe u not only managed to beat the game like this but u got 32 speedrunners to actually go outside. insane feat

@naddy_mc 9 months ago

i reckon we can beat ludwig in a ranked match

Literally every single action has the whole room acting like they landed a rocket on the moon

I like the constant applause because at any time so many people have keys that don't need to be pressed.

This video perfectly illustrates why orchestras have conductors.

Would’ve been nice if you included a keystrokes overlay to see everybody’s inputs

I love how they just celebrate everytime they make a progress

I wonder how optimized this could get, imagine the pinnacle of 32-player speedruns where they're all in perfect sync and obliterate any expectations

I appreciate that the "cheat" to stay alive wasn't really a cheat. Idk maybe it goes against speedrun rules but it was a normal feature of minecraft that didnt involve commands or editing the world to put you in creative, it didn't feel like a cheat at all to me.

The Esc is the hero of the group.

Last supper ah thumbnail

Simple math. If one speedrunner takes 10 minutes to finish the game, 32 can do it in sub 2h

Each zombie killed feels like they just landed a rover on Mars.

@placingsigns 9 months ago

runners on alt + f4 could have made this significantly more difficult

Man, the “pause when there’s a threat” strat they developed so fast was genius. Who was on pause? You were like the adrenaline button

@s_o_m_e_o_n_e__e_l_s_e 8 months ago

Pause guy is like the sensible parent of the group that knows these games, stopping it when everyone gets carried away or they need to stop what they’re doing or discuss etc.
