I’ve watched a lot of Northman interviews with Eggers, and have been struck by how many of the same questions he’s been asked, and how in many of those interviews he appeared pretty disinterested. This was, by far, the most informative and excellent interview of his I’ve seen for this film. You guys asked unique and interesting questions, and it’s immediately obvious that Eggers was much happier about participating in this versus others. Well done!

The way he talks about film making is always so interesting to listen to.

I just watched the movie. I thought it was great. More accessible than his other movies for a wider audience. I heard some younger guys complaining as I left but I think they probably assumed it was a normal action movie and doubt they'd seen his earlier films. My favourite part of the movie were the stunning visuals and cinematography including making great use of the beautiful and often harsh landscapes.

Great conversation! Focus Features produced The Northman, not A24

The movie is great! It is not for everyone but is very mythological and suspenseful like most of Egger's work. Some scenes are breathtaking.

THIS MOVIE IS ON PAR WITH SPARTACUS, ZULU, BEOWULF AND GLADIATOR. IT WAS A BEAST

I love Robert Eggers. I literally just bought "The Lighthouse" off of the A24 website. His movies are stories in every Frame.

Just catching up on Eggers interviews. Should you ever have him on again, please let him know that amongst the archaeological community he’s a hero 😂 seeing archaeological records (respectfully and as accurately as possible) brought to life is wild. The Northman was like a fever dream, particularly with the fortifications being brought to life. For Nosferatu it was equally impressive. Werwulf is going to be a feast, and myself and other archaeologists eagerly await 2026.

Robert Eggers strikes me as a straight-up genius. Such a smart, interesting artist. I’m a huge fan!

Great interview! These types of interviews make me think more on framing & the volume of ratios at one's grasp. Gona pre-order the CD & Vinyl for the score. Definitely want to go to a Discussion/Q&A of both Robert Eggers & David Lowery discussing the craft, favorite films of theirs, geeking out on tech stuff and on The Green Knight & The Northman.

One of the best films of 2022! Just watched again. It’s perfect

While watching The Northman I couldn't shake the idea that this is what Conan would of looked like as Scandewegian art house movie :)

I'm near 50 and when I heard Bjork was in it I thought, ah that makes sense and it's about time.

The Northman is a GREAT film. Eggers is obviously intent on forging his own path. I hope he has at least 25-30 years of making HIS movies.

This was a great interview - wish it was longer! Thanks for putting this together. Incredible film by the way - go see it at the cinema!

Ha I've watched like 5 hours of interviews and I'm entertained! How long is the movie? This is a good interview, you guys are good and I've seen a few (dozen or so) last couple of days.
