Blonde hair, long sleeves, head band, number  9, adidas - what a time to be alive.

I wish Torres would watch this video and read these comments. The man was absolutely better and more appreciated than the media even remotely gave him credit for ❤

And I say this as a Swedish Man United fan with no particular attachment to him.

LFC fan here... lifelong

In short, at his very best, he was quite simply a supercharged, unstoppable battering ram

I'm still amazed how someone so good and so dominant can become completely forgotten and treated average. Thank you Daily Dose you are a hero.

"So listen to this" is soo Iconic

As a german i will never forget how freakign good this guy was, absolute monster

My favorite player. The man who made me love football.

finally, a video on my childhood hero

Man United fan here. Torres, Henry, and Drogba were legit the only Premier League forwards who could make that impressive United backline of the 2000s look like it was a pipeburst. Torres was probably the only one who tormented Vidic like it was child's play.

With all due respect, Torres in the summer [2007] of moving to Liverpool was not just some Spanish kid. He had already been sought after by many top-clubs, including my Man United, so when Liverpool splashed the cash, 17 year-old-me was paralyzed in fear, because I had seen Torres in his Atletico prime, that kid was crazy good, and my one good friend, a Liverpool fan, was drooling in expectations. Needles to say that El Nino fulfilled those expectations, so no, man, he was not some  random Spanish kid in 2007, and that sum of money seemed absolutely reasonable then, trust me, been there, seen it.
So nobody made parallels to Morientes. Because Morientes came after crisis in Real M, and was coming off his prime, while Torres was right in the dawn of his prime.

Torres at his peak was amazing, one of best i've seen for any club as a 50 yr old Liverpool fan. Just think he played too much too young and his hamstrings gave way  - similar to Owen.

This made me legit cry. He was my childhood hero, the reason I started to love football, I still have some of his jerseys and his story made me realise what a hell the media and the football industry is.

As a Man U fan, Liverpool with Torres was scary! I remember instantly getting nervous if Torres ever got the ball anywhere in our half with space to run into. Out of all the players in the prem I thought he was the biggest threat and could punish the slightest of mistake from defenders.

He always give 110% for Liverpool when I watched him and was treated badly by the club, the fan's were also lied too about him.

Atletico coming to rescue at the end, kinda revived his career, winning the Europa league in his final season in Europe, and if Atletico would have won 2016 UCL final, trust me there would have been no regrets in his entire career.
But it is not over for him yet, he is currently manage of Atletico B, and doing quite well there.

I'm a Liverpool Fan to I am happy someone finally remembered him no matter who or what Fernando Torres was a great striker and player and a humble man to if I remember correctly

Hey, Ive been watching your channel for years to this point and usually I am not the guy to comment much but I just wanted to say what a great channel you have built and how you tell these players stories in a really entertaining way. Keep up the good work!

His striking was as good as his looks ,was supporting united but I always admired him and it was sad to see his carrier tumble after liverpool, I still remember watching his last game for Liverpool scoring a brace against chelsea the club he was heading to.

Im an Arsenal fan, have been all my life but as a kid i had a Liverpool and Spain shirt with Torres on the back cause i adored him as a player. One of my favourites at his peak

I remember Prime Torres VERY well, if he kept at that level he would have rivalled Henry for greatest prem player all time

Watching this video genuinely brought me close to tears; I feel such immense regret and sorrow. During this World Cup period, I rewatched countless exclusive interviews featuring him and began to piece together the full context of what truly happened. I’ve admired him for many years, and he has always been utterly one-of-a-kind among all footballers I’ve ever known, blessed with a charisma that makes people unable to help but grow fond of him.

I’d already familiarised myself with his career trajectory before, yet when I delved deeper into his story recently, I realised so much more lay beneath the surface. I believe the core tragedy of his story is that he became a casualty of internal power struggles during that turbulent decade, a victim burdened by a harsh media landscape, furious supporters, manipulated public opinion, and the entire hostile surrounding environment.

He had always yearned desperately for a major title and was endlessly willing to give everything for his team. For every club he represented, he poured out every last ounce of himself. Cruelly, public narrative framed him as a traitor. Yet he was an incredibly sensitive and delicate soul, and this unfair branding took a terrible toll on his mental wellbeing.

His athletic form deteriorated after the unfortunate delay to his essential surgery, compounded by that fateful open-goal miss. A perfect storm of tragic fate descended upon him. Still, I refuse to let him be remembered merely as a footnote of regret or a punchline of the Premier League era. To me, he remains an undoubted legend. His brilliant peak deserves reverence, just as his gentleness and kindness do too.

In my heart, he was never a traitor at all. He was always that Prince. What comforts me deeply is that he finally returned home in the end. At Atlético Madrid, he will forever be their boy—the shy, reserved yet resolute El Niño.

The essence of this tragedy lies in how a shy, sincere and somewhat bashful young man was confronted with the cruellest media, the harshest judgement, and the most brutal political manoeuvres. All he ever truly wanted was simply to play football, settle into a new city, and lift trophies. This tragedy is built upon such stark contrasts, making it nearly impossible to assess his career entirely free of personal sentiment. For my part, I will forever hold onto every shining moment of his and remember just how wonderful a human being he is. There is much in this world we are powerless to change, yet choosing to carry the warmth of him within my heart as I move forward is also a valid choice.
