downloading this game rn over night. Looking forward to play it tomorrow

100 hours for a dlc is pretty awesome.

"Reused monsters, not like monster hunter expac" The Raths: Allow us to introduce ourselves.
edit note: for context, Monster Hunter Iceborne only had four completely brand new monsters excluding title updates, subspecies, returning monsters and reskins in all but name. Such as beotodus not being jyuratodus but snow.

Endless conflux with Co-op would be fire.

I also played around 100 hours ER (400 hours in base game) and completed all chaos quests on S++ in a row during my first playthrough in ER with the new six chars; I have not touch Defy Infinity, yet.
and I have to say: I pretty much agree with you - not in all aspects but the most of yours, Ruri.

Conflux Mode:
is very nice for caching up and for awakening all the weapons; but after I unlock the ability for transcending the terminus weapons, I never touched Conflux again, because I used the Conflux Mode for Silver Centrums. but there are better quests for farming them now. so, Conflux was nice in the beginning, but it got boring very quickly. although, co-op Conflux would be very nice!!

"new" Encounters and Lucilius:
dunno, I am pretty satisfied. there are new fights - Seofon and Tweyen - love this fight so much, Beelzebub, The World, "The Six Dragons" - but many cool variations, too, with lots of new moves. it is fine for me.
Lucilius... you forgot to mention: Bahamut Versa and Id together - THIS is an absolut annoying boss fight!!
but about Lucilius... dunno. he is a really cool fight! altough I had many complains about its Zero variant - his buffs were annoying if you didn’t have characters who could counter them; these include Captain, Eugen, Cagliostro, and Sandalphon. just a handful chars from over 30 chars can dispel buffs is a bit insane for me - and I play pretty much every char.

Sigils:
in the base game traits like Stamina, Tyranny and Combo Booster etc. were important. in ER: so many attack traits are useless now, because we are getting so much ATK from weapons and master traits, that we have to use pretty much just damage cap traits as well as Berserker Echo and Spartan Echo and a bit defense/sustain traits. it is a bit sad.

but overall, I really like the expansion, too:
- story is okay
- VAs did a great job!
- all new chars are fun!
- Master Traits are really interesting
- soundtracks and sounddesign are also well done!
- summons are really cool and fun
- the rework of Transmutations and Transmarvel were much needed!

EDIT: and I like to farm for mats the quests more than the Conflux - you just get more useful stuff from quests during Fatebreaker.

I really loved the dlc but I also wished there would've been more actual new enemy types.
Cygames said depending on how well the dlc does, they might actually do more stuff in the future for the game, like costumes which are confirmed.
Would really love to see Versusia and Belial in the game as new bosses.

my only complain about this game is i still want MORE (characters and boss fights)
just because im the og mobile game player and i hope if this game doing so well cygame finally gonna make a real fully rpg open world granblue fantasy game someday

Just killed the final story boss and unlocked Terminus Ascended weapons. I probably spent around 50hs with it. Still going for more upgrades now and building a couple more characters. It's fun and worth the price tag IMO.

Awesome review ❤ I have about 250 hrs in just trying to get everything done

Just picked this game up yesterday and already sunk 10 hours in. Enjoying a slow story playthrough on hard ti learn the combat/characters. Looking forward to playing co-op at the late game with other people.

Great review, enjoyed your streams over the last week.

One idea I'd argue is that this game is absolutely single-player first focused and multiplayer is a more of an extra icing on top. That's why Conflux is the way it is and why you can build up CPU parties to completely dogwalk Chaos++ and even do the Defy Infinity comfortably with just CPU.

It would be awesome if Conflux ever got a Multiplayer mode but I'm not sure it will due to the single-player nature of the game.

Good review uncle Ruri

If you select Eugen's grenade punch mastery and just throw grenades on the floor near an enemy, it won't stick anymore and explodes immediately. If it does stick to an enemy then blow it up with intercept.  This style of play has Good AOE damage and allows you to stay mobile while dealing decent damage.  I used this method to get past all infinity bosses.  I am not sure if Cygames intended Eugen to be played like this but it works a treat. Please try it and let me know what you think.  His debuff mastery is terrible and I hope they balance some of these things out.

Just watched your Base Game Lucy fight from 2 years ago and your reaction with it... It's so funny that he's still the bane of your existence in this DLC. 😆

I agree with alot of your points tho. Lucy is abit over-designed that while it's fun to learn the mechanics is also frustrating from the example you've given.

It feels like if Alatreon is doing Escaton Judgement every 20 secs and you need to worry about your DPS while there's Omega Laser Beams that's coming from time to time.

Was waiting for this, looking forward to the watch

I was baited with eugen in the thumbnail. Only to see him sentenced to ai duty.

They added an actual endgame to the game and it is great.

I like Lucilius fight because it is a really good adaptation to his fights in the mobile game.

That being said, this game targeting system makes some of his phases unbearable. In the world fight I'm constantly attacking the wrong card with my strongest skill because I can't properly switch to the target i wanted.

As someone who likes the Lucilius encounter, your arguments I think are good. I main Captain with Substitute Master Trait and feel like some builds where not playing tested for endgame.

this is very fair review but i like to think that Cygame chose to prioritize on expanding on character roaster and more way to play them before adding a new monster (wich make sense since the franchise make banks on gacha player simping for thier fav waifu/husbando.)

ragnarok did added equivalence of 6 brand new weapon + 3 new combat style for all existing weapon so i think that is a fair trade off for lacking in more new monster.

difference IP,  difference target audience come difference focus i suppose.

(also agree we need harder conflux.   i want to get my max character's ass beated from bad boons RNG)
