Survival and tragedy collide on Mount Everest’s deadliest slopes. In 2026, the Death Zone claimed its first victims in ways climbers never expected—one man trapped for 19 days, a veteran Sherpa lost before setting foot on the ice, and a harrowing tale where sunglasses sealed a climber’s fate. Discover the shocking true stories behind Everest’s most recent disasters, with new revelations about betrayal, Sherpa sacrifice, and the relentless dangers at the world’s highest peak. This documentary deep-dive exposes the dark side of high-altitude climbing, the lure of the summit, and the terrifying realities few dare to speak aloud.

Imagine deep water divers gradually decreasing their oxygen the deeper they go. Would anyone be impressed?

I'm half way through. This is the best video you've put out yet! This narrator is the best yet. Very relaxing.

I remember Marty Hoey from riding the Snowbird tram in the early 80’s. I guess it was her personality as a tram host which was attractive to me. I also remember the sadness in the community after she died.

59:23 Nepal can't change the seasons. If someone summits during the winter, it holds.

Not a climber but from the outside looking in, what makes it worth risking your life with bad odds?

Once long ago, I can get the achievement but now it’s like a deadly Disneyland as so many have done it or died trying

It’s just not special anymore
If someone said they climbed Everest, I would ask them why?
There are more challenging things that matter in life than standing on top of a mountain that so many have done

0:57 "the most unforgiving peak" is K2... Not Everest

I’m not saying I’m tough, but I’m not climbing where I don’t have 3 points of contact. I’ve never been that sure on my feet, but high altitude doesn’t really scare me. And yet, I have no interest in going there!😊

I think we climb from the days we lived in the trees it’s in the bones

Messner was correct, if you want to set a technical record you have to follow the technical details, otherwise its a personal victory NOT A TECHNICAL RECORD!! Hawley tried to shame Messner with her comment about his technicality but that is what makes Messner so great And Hawley has never climbed a mountain herself...and if Messner was in his prime, he would do the Everest winter climb ACCORDING TO THE TECHNICAL DETAILS ❤❤

Will you ever get to 2026? old stories!!!

Marty looks to thin, no fat, no understanding of metabolic deterioration. Others should have stopped her😢

Its strange but stupid people approach Everest like they approach life: they focus on reaching the summit of achievement but fail to recognize the descent which may be more difficult: old age, disease, uselessness, eventual death...

What I took away from this is, if I want to climb Mt. Everest, don’t be a vegan, eat a steak before the climb! I’ll bet the other climbers were almost bored to death hearing about vegan diets and how cruel it is to eat meat! Blah blah blah…
