8:50 Back in the day when Wuppertal had a tram it could be possible to get a picture there with three types of rail transport.

Deutschlandticket is public transport excluding not only High-speed, but also Intercity trains. It's exclusively public regional (including local) transport.

Yay, the danglebahn.  ♥️

Did you notice the little stone elephant in the water? That´s where the elephant jumped out of the train because it panicked being in there. However, luckily, it didn´t hurt itself.

Nice to have an outside perspective on the Deuschlandticket. It used to be 49€. And we even had 3 Months for just 9€ (Nine).
The river section of the Schwebebahn is harmless, unless you are an elephant (true story).

my favourite thing is that you can buy an all day ticket on the Schwebebahn and it will include the Zoo as well. which i would recommend next time you go

You should have gone to Vohwinkel, you can see the stabled trains from that station as well.

The Deutschland ticket is amazing value. I've used it a coupe of times.  The Schwebebahn used to have a turntable(wendeanlage) at Zoo-Stadion for reversing trains. You can still see the wider supports where it waslocated.

That's correct, the reason it's the way it is, is because the only free space to build on was over the river ... and the only way to put something over the river was to suspend it.

Hence ... why we've got what we've got there.  It's a very practical, very German solution to a problem.

The Wuppertaler Schwebebahn was built 1899. And it startet 1901. The technic is very old. The trains are new.

As a German it's cool to see you in Germany. You now have to come to Dresden (my hometown) to see another funicular railway. I'd love to show it to you

I was there last year and I remember some truly scenic spots along the way. Great for trainspotting.

Hello! A German  🇩🇪 here your pronouncing of the station names is really funny for a native German speaker who was born in Germany and we actually don’t call them trains we just call them Schwebebahn which means “flying Train” and next time you are there you have to try to sit at the end of the “Schwebebahn” cause there is a big window where you can see the “Wupper” if you’re over the river

It is a technological and engineering marvel made in 1900 by the Germans which no other nation could dream of.
Greetings from India.

I’ve used the Schwebebahn almost every day back when I was in school. I find it always funny that people travel to my former home town to use our Schwebebahn. I haven’t traveled in the new blue trains, as far as I know they swing way less than the old trains.

If you live in Germany that would start to get boring but in the uk it’s the best railways ever

You are such pleasant people. And your explanations and descriptions are so calm and your tone of voice is very pleasant too.

When we have visitors from out of town in the Ruhr area, I always take them to Wuppertal instead of Cologne Cathedral.

I can highly recommend Sunday mornings. Or after the rush hour in the evening . When the lights are on.

I was on it myself a few weeks ago.  My brother took me to Dusseldorf for a lads' weekend for my birthday and we popped over to Wuppertal for a few hours one morning.  I'd read about this and I'm more of a history nerd than a transport one so I rode it from a historical aspect.  We also took in a Borussia Dortmund football match.   Germany is similar geographically to England in that there are regions where there are at least three or four large cities within easy travelling distance of each other.

The Landgericht is said to be the origin of saying "going over the Wupper".

4:29 Omg I was standing at the exact same spot to film some of the trains last summer
