I mean, being a lesbian is kind of the ultimate "just girly things"

god i love and hate tumblr culture. occasionally ill find myself reciting what i thought was a widely-known meme / internet history event, only to realize ive just outed myself as a fairy-lights-bedroom-dwelling tumblr-infused fossil of a person. finally i can direct my peers to a good lesson! another banger video from izzzyzzz!

As someone that never left the platform, this feels exactly like when my mom tells anyone all the embarrassing stuff I did as a kid

One controversy I def feel bad about is the Peter Pan craze on tumblr where so many of us got a crush on the cast member of Peter Pan at DisneyLand that someone ended up finding who the actor was and he ended up losing his job since Disney is really hard-core about cast members not revealing to the public their real names in order to 'keep the magic alive'

Tumblr's revival due to twitter's downfall is the most beautiful case of irony.

I’m still bitter over a girl who never returned my copy of “The Fault in our Stars” with specific mascara tear streaks on Chapter 21. I specifically cried on those pages how dare she take that from me. This might have been over a decade ago but I haven’t forgiven her.

It genuinely feels like Cole Sprouse just felt embarrassed and pulled a redditor "I did this on purpose all along" move

i am a long time Tumblr user and i can confirm that the"i like your shoelaces" thing works. the response tends to be "oh fuck you goddamnit" and not "i stole them from the presedent" but it works like a bell to Pavlov's dogs

As an active Tumblr user, this is like staring at a list of my cults sins and doing nothing about it

The bone witch got in more legal trouble for possession of marijuana than they did for stealing bones. But I wouldn't say it went no where. This actually prompted Louisiana lawmakers to update their laws on possession of human remains to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again. I would say a tumbr post changing state legislature is a pretty significant thing.

43:40 fun fact: when i went to the psych ward as a kid about three or four of us all took pictures from coloring books and colored them in weird ways (changing color or shading, adding devil horns or teeth, or just scribbling) and were doing the youtube foot lettice voice of "look at this picture a bipolar 14 year old drew... You can just see the insanity in his mind..."

There’s a video about the Bonegazi situation;
Ender is thankfully not free to steal our bones. During the court proceedings they ran off to FLORIDA with their daughter. Cops went and took them back for arraignment. Ender got fined and 5 years suspended sentence . Because fun fact!

There were no laws in Louisiana for specifically stealing human remains, the closest they could use was petty burglary.

They have since made a law against stealing human bones

'Bitch that's the tubby custard machine' is a hilarious precursor to 'Baby that's Keke Palmer'. Even funnier that both lines were used to disprove obvious misinformation

I think the actual case with TCC is that it stand for 'true crime community' AND ''teacher crush community'. They have beaf with each other for having the same acronym

Little did we know that the Josh Hutcherson image would make a comeback months later

Kinda surprised you didn't mention the mass exodus after porn was banned on the site. I remember so many people, especially artists, being really upset. Also the way that tumblr would autoflag images that weren't even nsfw. My bunny's blog had some pics and videos flagged which like, it was just my rabbit lol

The bone witch one gets even worse because the bones they were "gathering" were displaced human remains from people who had been buried in the ground. It is very hard to keep bodies in the ground in Louisiana due to how wet and marshy the soil is, especially the closer you get to the Mississippi Delta. A lot of the people buried in the ground tended to be poorer PoC who couldn't afford or weren't allowed to have those fancy above ground mausoleums that New Orleans is famous for, so unfortunately a lot of times their remains float to the surface and get washed away.
