I believe the early models were deaf on LW and MW including the 950 Pro.  I think they have have done a small update on the board.  Hopefully the radios arriving now should fully work now!

At the moment I'm using a TRX 2 whistler scanner amazing unit, with a all band scanner Antenna the Antenna is on  the side of my house, so I get a great singles thinking of getting a home base unit,
so your videos really help .....thank you.

Great videos, Fred! 🤩 Have you thought of taking your amateur radio license test? 🧐 Then you can show the radios on the ham bands. 📻 #videos #radio #license #test #bands

Got the radtel 950 pro and got it all programed, the only thing thus far is found is the volume isnt that compared to ailunce or radioddity which is strange. Not really interested in the side bands etc but do like the tri-band - monitoring 3 channels is very slick! Cheers from Washington state USA.

Always enjoy your content. I just got my RT-950 Pro and just love it. Great receive on SW and HF bands. 73!

It's not a question of whether I NEED the PRO version.
But rather stating that I WANT the PRO version!
Great video Fred as always! 🙂

Great video. I have the radtel rt-470x and it recieves well enough but it doesnt transmit well. Ive tested it alongside the uv-5r, the Quansheng, the wouxun, and even my old Alinco dj580, using the same antennas from the same location and its not able to open the same repeaters and it performed badly on PMR compared to the Quansheng and Baofeng.

I have the RT-880G. It's a good radio but the UI does need a serious makeover - it's rather confused. It does transmit on 27MHz.

fred i have been letting people know on facebook that the 950 and the 950 pro are completly deaf on MW and LW , contacted Radtel about this and they are aware of the problem which by the way is a hardware problem. the later batch of 950 and 950 pros have the modified hardware to fix the problem, if you receive a 950 pro from the old batch you will have the same problem hopefully Radtel will give you one with the modified hardware, i am sure they will after watching your video if they have done. unfortunatly i had to send mine back.

Hi Fred, when I saw your new video come out I really got excited and then suddenly deflated when I noticed it wasn't for the 950 Pro 😢 like many others we are eagerly waiting for you to test the new pro version. Hopefully they have sorted the issues out with V2 of the radio.

Mine arrives later today,  fingers crossed my pro is the latest version 2 release  🤞

Hope you get the chance to test the pro version.

The pro is under £60 on AliExpress...think many have been spoilt by the virtually throw away prices of most of these Chinese radios £60 is cheap as chips IMHO personally a broadcast radio is the last thing on earth o would be interested in ..like buying a good phone and winging about the games ect..CB FM ? Nah !! SSB would have to be a priority for sure , maybe £60 for a radio you can only use PMR then yup maybe it's expensive, but then buying a car you can only use first gear in would be , to be of value then need to be able to use it to its full potential.. keep up the good work Fred , always enjoy your review's...not long now till 2nd Nov so you must be getting excited 👍👍

Same problem Fred. The one I bought last year was deaf on LW/MW & Shortwave. Great on PMR, but lacks on broadcast reception.

Hi there looks a good radio but  it works poorly on short wave  did you try a 50 foot  wire antenna? I would think it would overload it for Mel I think l would give it a miss
anyways fred great video as always from raymond

The first batch of these radios were deaf on MW and LW and now there also seems to be issues with 3rd party external mic's frying the audio.  It seems like Radtel rushed this one a bit.  I have a second unit on the way that has supposedly rectified the MW&LW reception issue.
Radtel was very responsive and offred a discount on the replacement and gave me a discount to keep the original unit.  Radtel in my view has been responsive and done a decent job of addressing the issues with this radio but maybe they should have let this once bake a bit more before they released it.

Great video, Fred. If you buy the latest Radtel RT-950 Pro. It's been fixed according to Radtel. 73's

You need a handlebar moustache mate :) Suit you

I have the 950 Pro model and I have to say it's top-notch. Harmonics on the R&S test bench were top-notch, including CB with 3.5 watt modulation. Reception with an 11 m antenna was also OK. Amateur bands were easy to hear with a suitable antenna. VHF/UHF was no problem at the test bench. When I see devices from Icom, Yaesu, or Kenwood, I have to say the device is up there!

Hi Fred.....I have a pro software v.17 early version and absolutely no problem with it. The cb works very well. I got mine from aliexsress with vouchers and only paid £44.....bargain. it also has a built-in repeater.  Airband is spot on....

Hi Fred, I contacted Radtel via this issue and apparently they have brought out a v2 version with updated hardware. They said that the radios shipped from China from mid September are the v2 radios.
