In our tests the DeWalt DCF870 was quieter with less vibration and offered a much better work light (9 LEDs with 20-minute mode). The DCF850 has more torque yet drove large screws slower than the 870 so... torque shmork!

FYI, you really don't get how much quieter the hydraulic is in the video bc the audio is too close to the source, I guess. I didn't get how much nicer it is to use sound-wise until I used it a while longer. After using the 870 to install duct work in some attic spaces, I'll never be without a 20min work light on an impact again. It's a great additional light source.

why are the screws for the 850 always going in at an angle but the 870 going in straight. Does that affect the time at all? Not that a mil second matters.

I’m trying to make the switch from Milwaukee to dewalt , so I bought a circular saw with flex 60ah and two 5ah batteries but found out the battery does not match , I didn’t know dewalt has two types of batteries

I like the all black on the XR. When i recently purchased my 850, I brought it home, opened the box and in the metal there was a gouge in it. I went back to Home Depot and exchanged it. I opened the new one in store at the customer service desk, and it also had a cosmetic defect, so I asked for another one. The third one too, had a defect. The fourth one was the charm. If I'm buying something new, I want to be the one to cause the damage, I don't want it to have been Pedro in Mexico. Most Dewalt tools are made in Mexico. I prefer this over Milwaukee's China production. What's strange though is the defects were all in the same spot, the top left side of the tool (holding it in the drill position), in the metal.
