I Love everything about this. I miss Roy. I miss Howard.

2:51 "impatience with people of lesser intelligence" lol Me too Howard

“A man as accomplished and as complicated as me.”

Nothing at all complicated about hubris.

You can be clueless w/o being arrogant, but it is RARE to be arrogant w/o being clueless , at a fundamental level.

This is how interviews should always be conducted. Classy and respectful, but void of a bunch of soft, pandering, patty cake questions that don’t challenge or respond with any pushback or follow up questions to gain a better perspective or understanding. Roy Firestone, one of the most underrated guys to do it in the media space.

Roy Firestone was great as usual. As a kid everyone would imitate how Howard Cosell would talk....lol. One of  a kind Dude.

Howard Cosel, a man of self-importance but an icon of sports and society as a whole.  The man made his mark, no doubt about it.

The most intriguing man in sports of my lifetime by far, he continues to fascinate me.  If there was ever a time we would need Cosell it’s today.  He would rail against NIL and scream corruption.

Excellent interview by Roy Firestone--you come away from it realizing how complex Cosell was as a human being. You also come away realizing to this day there hasn't been a sports broadcaster who has ever approached Cosell's erudition and intellect--no one even close!!

He is the one who broke the news that John Lennon had been murdered. I thought he handled it very well

Interesting comments on Billie Jean King. Wish he'd said more.

I miss Cosell 😢

Probably filmed in 1983. Howard Cosell's wry wit might be his most underrated quality. Such a treasure.

Howard was great. Roy had a run, but this reminded me of a freshman interviewing a retiring professor.

Cosel, fascinating.  💙❤️💯

Wow. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great interview!

Cosell was a complicated man.  but as a sports announcer he was at the top.  Listen to him call the Larry Holmes vs Ken Norton fight.  Man could he call a fight.   Of course his Monday night football games were legendary,  check out the Earl Campbell run vs Miami.  28th carry of the game. 199 yards. Howard called it with perfect passion.  Made it that much better to watch.

This is fantastic

I'M SHOCKED ROY DID NOT MENTION MOHAMMED ALI🤯
