Fancy a story about a (slightly more successful, but still bizarre) attempt to steal not just ONE million dollars, but FOURTEEN? Give the story of the Hatton Garden Heist a shot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSPIb88m61c

"The entire jury became overwhelmed by a fit of uncontrollable coughing during the trial."
LMAO

Honestly, I'm more outraged about the dog punching than allegedly cheating on a game show.

Tecwen Whittock is the PERFECT name for a villainous tech guru who hacks game shows for millions

Ironically, if they had stopped one or two questions earlier they likely would have gotten away with it.
I suspect they would have looked far less hard at a guy who bumbled his way further than expected, then lost his nerve and dropped out. The million is such a huge deal it is always going to come with extra scrutiny.

"infuriating there's a question mark in the name but not in the logo" - I never noticed that and now I can never unsee that.

I love that this channel allows for humorous narration. Which makes sense, as unlike the other channel most of these failures don't end with someone dying horribly. I'm enjoying the delightful deadpan snarking.

Charles and Diana.... no relation 😂😂

"Winning £32000 to put towards his phone bill" what a beauty

Let’s not overlook the fact that if there was a coughing accomplice, that dude got all the questions right!

I think that ultimately Charles’ undoing was greed. If he had walked away with £250k, I think he’d have gotten away with it as there wouldn’t have been enough evidence. The last two questions with the “NO” cough and the seemingly random changing of his mind and risking huge amounts of money on something he had never heard of and perfectly “coincidental” coughs were basically the proof beyond any reasonable doubt in my mind.
That being said, let’s not forget who the true villains of this story are, and that’s those who thought it’s okay to bully or hurt innocent children and animals who had nothing to do with it. They are objectively far worse of human beings, if they can even be called that. Trying to name a cough medicine after Tecwin was amazing though.

Someone punching the dog is absolutely disgusting and should be held accountable. Animal cruelty is a criminal offence.

I will not stand here for this Crystal Maze slander! As a boy growing up in a third world country, my dream is (still) to end up in the Crystal Maze... the "lame" prizes is part of the charm I think...

I love everything about this format. It's amazing how you can completely switch up the tone between the other channel and this one and nail both.

The million dollar question is the first I’ve ever known. This being back in the early 00’s I’m not surprised most people wouldn’t have a clue what a googol is lol

Feel sorry for their kids being bullied😢

I think they cheated but, what the hell. Too bad they got caught. I feel sorry for the kids and the poor dog. Thanks, KC!

I was at school when this story was all over the news. I can remember kids loudly and obviously coughing out the answers to questions from the teachers for weeks afterwards.

5:33 I feel like WWTBAM really changed the tone for what people expected in gameshows - prior to that it was never really ABOUT the prize. BEING ON THE SHOW was the real experience. I doubt anybody really cared if they won the crystal maze's naff prizes or not, they just wanted to hang out with Richard, chat to Mumsie and visit "the future" (which ironically these days looks more like the Industrial zone) and get a cute little glass trinket to take home... This is why I always got so annoyed whenever they left people locked in for the whole game like COME ON GUYS you're letting someone MISS a once in a lifetime opportunity just so you have a slightly higher chance to win a go kart activity!!!

Wow. You win a bunch of medals for taking out an Argentine machine gun nest with nothing but a pistol, and all you're remembered for is cheating on a quiz show. :(
