You can't break into houses because you're not some homeless kid wandering amongst the towns, but an actual pillar of the community.

I like the realism part of this game, a gym leader typically destroys all challengers but once they lose to the main character and his rival he tends to have a reality check and go off into the wilderness to grind his pokemon a bit then come back to face newer challengers.

Nintendo and the Pokemon Company should take notes here. It's like a farm/life sim, city builder, but with Pokemon.

Going to the badlands, filled with Criminals, coming home and selling "stardust" is not suspicous at all.

@arthurdurham 9 months ago

It's not a real gym leader experience unless you can decide to not be available for challenges unless the trainer performs some arbitrary tasks first or just decide to go run a criminal empire instead

Haha I remember this rumor in HeartGold and Soulsilver that if you beat the Elite 4 250 times you become a gym member. Everyone at school believed it when I was young.

To be fair to the mayor, a lot of the new Pokemon games have the Gym Leaders doing all kinds of crazy stuff. They're Gym Leaders, sure, but they also seem to be: Local law enforcement, credible experts in various research fields, business owners, stage performers, and all sorts of other things.

Being a Gym Leader sounds exhausting lol.

3:46 "Wait, aren't you the mayor? Isn't that your job?" - The mayor gives off major Mayor Lewis vibes

I did some research, and technically, you haven't beaten the game until you've beaten Shane in the Even Badderlands.

9:24 "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?!" "I love the young people."

Game Dev Shane is a powerful trainer that can be found in the Even Badderlands after obtaining Gym Rank eight. He is the most powerful trainer in the game, with a diverse team of 6 level 99 starter Pokémon, making him the "Superboss" of This Gym of Mine.

Something he dosent mention in the video is
You dont have to use only fire types
you can use any Pokemon that can learn your Gyms signature Move which in the case of fire is Flamethrower
But you can only have 3 pokemon like that

The rattata ready to train for the elite 4 after getting his first badge”I wAnNa bE tHe vErY bEsT “

@Randomwhiteguy1-o1j 9 months ago

I would want to make a gym that would haunt a child’s nightmares, just like Whitney did to me in Gen 2

@robbyraymond9047 1 year ago

The Rattata probably destroyed you since it likely had Guts and it was burned

@atacstringer8573 1 year ago

This is a huge missed Opportunity by Nintendo to make a game like this loved the video

GF planned that you could build a gym in X&Y but then decided to cut the content. It's good that at least someone has implemented this idea when Pokemon doesn't want it themselves.
