Out of absolutely nowhere, CD Projekt Red announced that on 29th September 2026 we will be able to get our hands on a complete remaster of one of the most highly rated games of all time - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt... for FREE!
This remaster isn't just a visual upgrade, but actually includes a huge amount of updates to the game's combat system including a brand new weapon for Geralt to use, a complete re-work of the skill tree, more finishers animations, and so much more.
September 2026 is filled with some unbelievable releases already - but with all the information we now have on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, I think this might end up being one of the biggest releases of this year.
Songs of the Past is the brand new DLC releasing for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sometime in 2027. So what better way to prepare for this than playing through the remastered base game and both of the already released DLC's (Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine) for FREE.
CD Project Red have truly done it again!
Thanks, guys and enjoy!

To have access to the new chain weapon we will of course have to buy the new 'Songs of the Past' DLC. But this DLC will not release alongside the remaster on September 29th. So far CD Projekt Red have stated that the DLC will release in 2027 with no specific release window.
So although we WILL be able to use this new weapon in the base game, we'll just have to hang tight until the DLC releases!
Also for clarity, to play the new DLC we must have completed the main quest, and both 'Hearts of Stone' and 'Blood and Wine', as 'Songs of the Past' is set after those events. So we will be able to go back to the original game's map to complete side content, bounties, roaming around etc. But if you want to use this new weapon through the original Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's main quest this will likely only be achievable through New Game Plus.
Apologies for that everyone! Annoyed at myself with this one! At least it gives us all sometime to complete the main quest though and both DLC's, ey? 😂
