I’d definitely offer Ernie $6 million. Let’s not forget what he did in the playoffs and in the first half of the season. He may have been injured in the second half.

Also, I just recently discovered your YouTube channel. I absolutely love it! You do a great job and have excellent insight when it comes to the Jays. Keep up the good work!

Funny thing is they paid vladdy mostly for his last name and marketing, Ernie is a popular player whats a couple extra million than he deserves for the fans to get to keep their favourite player?

Bo is not coming back to Toronto, so let’s close the door to that rumour already. I do think you’re bang on about the Jays going after 2 bats and then just rolling the dice on bounce backs to save money though, but I also see them paying both Smith and Clement to stay. A lot of the Jays fanbase has always been casual ball fans (especially right now), and bringing a fan favourite back like Clement would sell tickets to the average person in a soft rebuild season, where this FO has already proven multiple times since arriving they could care less about the hardcore ball fans.

When the glue goes, Clement, Straw, Lucas, the whole thing falls apart.

Jazz is 15th in the league among fielders for OAA (3rd among 2nd basemen), plus is reliably around 700/800 OPS, around 20 homers and 30 stolen bases.

Plus we'll probably be able to buy low on him.

Lou’s varland needs more like 10M is the best closer in the game

Don't you know?  Players get paid on what they did!  Ernie did great  last year to the end of the playoffs.  Yes, the Jays should be paying him 7 mil LOL

gIMI has the contract u must move in a trade ,lots of teams have offence and need defence upgrade Look into Pena ,lowe, Seager, neto, Arraez etc  Ern is better on the left side. Lukes is worth that money , Straw may redo at a lower number and trade the fringe guys for a bat or two

You can see why they finished last.. most of those guys should be selling programs outside the stadium.

You can’t pay Ernie $6 or Lucas $2 but we can pay Flabby Junior $40!

What do you think happened to Ernie’s bat?

They are paying Earn as a utility guy but plays full time??? They did that with Lauer , pay for bulpen but your now starting. They over pay some and cheap out others, both are bad

Vlad is 27 and will be 28 going into next season.

I hate this crap!  It's not your money. Why are you concerned about it?  There was no whining 1 year ago when the Jays were in the World's Series... Shut up and let the professionals do their job.  For better or worse.

Letting Straw go? Stupid move IMO. Better defense, fast runner and has some power!

Feels like people think the blue jays can keep all the same players and magically get better

Clement is NOT worth that.

Cut ernie and josh, save 10m and give it to a real 2b, enough of this everyone 15m go get real star players at 30m a year

Vladdy does not like ernie. Ernie was rockin and rollin and vladdy got jealous vladdy would shake his head at ernie and okamoto when something went wrong. ernie is one of the best second basemen in the MLB. okamoto defence is a disgrace.  ernie and okamoto were told not to outshine vladdy.. Thats when they cooled off. Canada is going to miss ernie, vladdy says good riddence

It might take 2 years for this team to go back to the world series
