As a fellow tinkerer, I fully appreciate the work and perseverance on this project! It's unnerving cutting into something and making "no going back from here" changes. Can't wait to see what's next!

Instead of cutting, you just remove both side frame rails, they are attached at the top front by 1 bolt, the main front engine mount bolt half way down and the 2 bolts near the foot pegs. You also have to unbolt the reg/rec and the top of the radiator as it sits on a peg on each frame rail. This may sound like a lot, but it's WAY easier than cutting the mid pipes and potentially messing up the frame or cases. With both the left and right frame rails out of the way the cat and welded mid pipes will just drop down when unbolted from it's mount. Then just rebolt the frame rails on and slide the x-pipe into place and bolt everything back together.

My Euro 5 bike (Speedmaster) doesn't have a welded cat, so not all bikes do.
I swapped out an Xpipe and Hitchcox short drag pipes in about an hour, no fuss no issues.

10:49 why did cut that lower bracket on the lower frame cradle? and all those cut marks from the angle grinder! 😧 now you can't even install a nice engine guard without that bracket. Anyway...I didn't know that on the euro5 models the pipes that go into the catalytic converter are now permanently welded to it, I have a 2016 model and I've just removed the mufflers and am done with it. I realized that the slash-cut pipes are virtually the same except they are a bit longer. It sounds great and not obnoxiously loud, and I saved about $300 including shipping.

Hello mate, nice videos. I'm chopping my Ducati 937 in for a Speed Twin 900 next week and looking forward to riding here in London and doing some 'fettling'. Have to ask about your bobbins for the paddock stand. Where did you get them and how are they fitted? Here in the UK there's a company that does a rod that goes through the rear axle with bobbins on the end. Is yours the same?
