Essential Civilian Tips I Wish I Knew Sooner | Halloween: The Game

Most Halloween: The Game matches are decided by mechanics the game barely explains. These advanced Civilian tips will help you rescue residents faster, find escapes, track Michael Myers through the lights, and survive some of his nastiest attacks.

We’re covering how the Flare Gun advances the first police badge, using power boxes to pull locked residents outside, queuing escape orders before opening hiding places, marking and carrying objective items, masking resident breathing cues, reading streetlights and the minimap, avoiding Shape Slip ambushes, stopping the Police Wagon early, weapon and Amulet limitations, stun immunity, and the firecracker timing that can interrupt Reality Tear.

Some of these tricks are dependable. Others are the kind of desperate Haddonfield nonsense that works just often enough to make you try it again.

What obscure Civilian mechanic has saved one of your matches? Drop it below, because I’m testing the best discoveries for the full Hero strategy guide.

Quick addendum I forgot to mention on the bicycle tip: running Michael over is a great way to knock him down and save somebody early in the match. But once he’s built enough Bloodthirst, the bike will no longer put him on the ground. At that point, you’re probably better off avoiding old Mike unless you want to be the one lying on your ass.

So what obscure Civilian trick has saved one of your matches, or what mechanic did the game force you to learn the hard way? Drop your best ones below. I’m testing them for the full Hero strategy guide.

Illfonic needs to make this video the official civilian tutorial lol

If you shoot big mike with the flare it still fills the first badge for the police.

The locks on the lock box can break by taking damage / being shot. A brick is essentially a multiple lock box code if you aim it and hit the lock.

Love the flare as a starter item --and you can get it by leveling enough to unlock Annie (profile level 55) and then level her to level 10. I am then using Rachel until I unlock Laurie. Don't call police yourself, use the less important civilians to do that while you search their house.

@DoctorPastapus 2 weeks ago

You can also command them to follow then command them to escape then you dont even have to enter the house to do that 😅

THIS is ESSENTIAL! Thanks!!

Wait so that’s why when i just start playing the match as a civilian we instantly get 1 badge filled up cause someone shot a flare into the air, legit thought people were cheating cause i was like how tf did we get a badge filled a minute into the game

I figured out another michael tip today that I haven't herd people talk about. While in first person stalk mode you can shape jump into hiding spots as long as your not in the light or nobody's watching. It doesn't have the longest range but could be useful. For example, I accidentally figured it out while stalking a person through a window and saw the prompt when I scrolled over a closet, so I pressed the button and it shape jumped me from outside the house to inside the closet with all the lights on in the house. Could make for some surprises if people have all doors locked and lights on. You can also use it to jump into cars or other hiding spots.

I wonder if you ghosty a bike into Michael would it still knock him down or would it only work by staying on the bike and hitting him.

Remember ancient amulets protects agianst 1 slash or grab and can also be broke from a teammate pushing or running into you, also if two civilians are trying to atack michael on the ground while loomis tries to arrest him will damage loomis and take him out dunno if thats a bug or feature lol

Great video man appreciate it 💯

@spacecadet837 13 days ago

You can do the “follow me” quick chat so they exit the hiding spot on their own then do the “escape” chat

@AoBushi 2 weeks ago

The flare tip is awesome but I am torn between doing that or keeping it for if Michaels doing the two hit kill build its about the only way to counter it and save someone if they are being attacked
