Thanks so much!

Point downhill. Strait to hospital 😂

Where is foldable bike, aka foldie / brompton? I think it should be a category itself

Next time my friends ask me why I need more than one bike. I will refer them to this video. 😅

Cargo bikes -- especially with electric help for carrying kids and cargo loads -- will change the world!

lol. ‘A little handbook to tell them how to ride around corners.’

8:35 "Cycling recreationally at normal speed." 😅

As a triathlete, love the little scoff at triathletes, great video!

This like watching a list of all the different genres of metal music. I'm sure it's very important to someone.

This video could get a part 2 for more niche categories like tall bike, tandems, touring bikes, mini velos, foldable bikes, recumbent, and much more !

Saw that Scott ebike at the start of the ebike segment.
Thought it looked cool.
Went to the Scott website to check it out.
Costs more than my motorcycle did.

Damn it, mate's right. I ended with a gravel! 🤣

14:22 he was ran over nooo

Missed three I can think of:

Touring bikes (yes, I saw you had City/touring bike in the utility bikes category) - long chain stays, long wheelbases, relaxed upright seating geometry, and usually are drop bar (flat bars being rare because of the limited hand positions) - these are meant to be heavily loaded and outfitted with racks and pannier gear front and rear, easiest bikes to fit accessories such as full coverage fenders, usually a medium weight steel frame (aka not weigh in like a tank, but not as light as an all steel vintage racing bike either), 3x drivelines are still surprisingly common (even seem to be preferred) as are rim brakes (meant to be easy to work on without the support of a bike shop), a relaxed geometry for all day riding and soaking up many miles at a time like an endurance bike - the ones I'm talking about are intended to be use for extremely long multi-day to multi week long journeys.  Quite a few gravel bikes could belong here, but a true touring bike has a much longer wheel base due to the long chain stays, and a more relaxed upright seating position then any gravel bike I've seen, and these bikes definitely have a lower BB over a gravel bike.  Sure these are a utility bike - but I do feel they need there own category given just how specialized they are.  Not the most common bicycle around, at least these days - prob the 70's (maybe even the 80's) was the hay-day period.

Tandems - two (sometimes more) people one bike - but I guess these can belong to hybrid.

Oh, and recumbent - the weirdest bikes of them all being very low and the laid back riding position.  They aren't a hybrid, but are there own thing.

I didn't need to watch this but just find the CADE videos so entertaining. Thanks again!

the most fun is making your own bike genre, my primary mountain bike is a 2003 castellano fango, a "softtail", except modernized with a 140mm/(120mm travel) front fork that bumps up the head tube angle, paired with more aggressive 2.2 "gravel" tires and a 52t cassette it ends up somewhere in the territory of gravel or XC but i commute with it, because my commute goes from asphalt to singletrack to illegally tresspassing on railroad ballast
especially compared to modern standards its not a trail bike, its not a hardtail, its not an xc bike and its not a gravel bike, its all of the above and i love it

Irrespective of whatever you say Francis, your delivery of information is so enjoyable it is a pleasure to listen to you.

There are also front wheel drive electric bicycles, probably the most common type if someone is doing a conversion of a regular bicycle to an electric one.

Great video! For a follow up I would love some information about Bikepacking vs Touring vs Trekking vs whatever other category of bike that lets you carry some luggage.

I love this video. I've been getting back into cycling. I was away from it for about 20yrs, but I thought I knew a lot until I watched this! 😂
