I'm a frequent visitor to BKK and the last time I tread in our dear Thermae was in 2016. It was most pleasant. I remember having a nice little liaison with a beautiful women who stood out from the rest as she was eating and the others were not. Now as this was my first time in BKK I was a young man at 21 with limited experience. What started off as ST for 2.5thb turned into 1000THB to eventually just meeting her after work. Those moments taught me many things and moments I will enjoy forever. I hope to return in June but I am concerned those golden memories will be tainted and that I now no longer pay for play I don't see much reason to visit other than nostalgia.
There is STILL the Legend of the Original Thermae Cafe. I went there years ago. The hotel and Cafe were demolished. I guess the owners thought it would be great to bring back the Thermae name. It looks like many mixed raced girls. And girls with big cleavage. The" bouncers" decide which girls are allowed. They can tell a ladyboy without checking the package. In a way the legend lives.
A lot of incorrect information in some of the comments. Thermae Cafe is a freelancer joint. I was there last month. On a good night, you will see around a hundred freelancer ladies inside. They don't work for anyone. They work for themselves. So there is no barfine nor lady drinks. If you fancy a lady, approach her and ask how much for short-time. The going rate these days is 3,000 Baht for short-time. The ugly ones charge 2,000 ~ 2,500 Baht, if you want to save a little money. Long-time is very expensive and I don't advise doing long-time because most likely something will go wrong. Also, you don't want to be stuck long-time in a hotel room with a Thai lady when there is so much going on outside in Bangkok. Much better to do 2 short-times rather than 1 long-time. 99% of the Thermae patrons are East Asians. The ladies prefer them because they are more mild-mannered and they do not try to "outwit" the ladies. So farangs may get the cold shoulder from some of the ladies. The freelancers on the main street and side streets of Sukhumvit may be more receptive towards farangs. Do not just focus on Thermae Cafe. There are plenty of beauties on the streets as well. There is someone for everyone in Bangkok. That is why we all love Bangkok...
i was there summer 2022 . also previous years. Thermae is known as no lady boy allowed -- they have male attendants at the head of the stairs that cheek the ID of each Lady wishing to enter . i have never been disappointed - never encountered a lady boy inside Thermae Cafe !
Thank you for doing a high-quality video of the thermae café area. Most other videos mention the name but some don’t even go inside or give any interesting information. Keep up the good work.
In 2002 my first time in Bkk, a friend recomended me to stay at the Ruamchit Hotel. And with a smile on his face he said: ”Go down to the basement at night” I did, and I’ve been coming back ever since. 🍿🍺 Interesting that all these years later, the clientel is stil to 90% Japanese.
When I didn't know anything about cars, I went to a used car lot where all the cars were well old and worn with a lot of miles on them and quite a few past owners. Then I found out that better car lot's with newer models, fewer miles and more fun existed, where the cost of cars was the same. For those that missed it...this was an analogy. Thermae...for those that know little about cars...or are socially awkward at driving...
