After many years I was finally able to get my first MontBlanc149 this year! It was in it's original box old but never used and at a discounted price from Florida Fountain Pen shop and I love it!!!!

From the MB 149 dating chart available online, ebonite feeds were used from the first 149 in the mid 1950s up until the very early 1990s. Other online sources say W Germany was written on the 149 from 1989 through 1991. I’m not sure where 1989 came from though. It might have started earlier in the 1980s. The reason W Germany wasn’t used earlier was apparently that West Germany didn’t officially recognize East Germany as an independent country until the 1980s.

Wonderful video. I got inspired for Montblanc some 7- 8 weeks ago and have been on a frenzy since. I can't get enough and ~~believe~~ I'm now on my way to my 15th pen. It's going very fast. I'm a leftie so no fountains for me yet. There will be though and the grail is a very well kept 1970's 149 that at some point, I'm sure, will fall into my collection. I love their silver and golden fibre guilloche pens, de Doue Vermeils and I love the special editions like my citrines and carbon silver pens. My daily writers are a classic LeGrand rollerball in black resin and some silver ballpoints and burgundy rollers. I love burgundy, one of my favorite colors they have done. Thanks for sharing your video

I have the black Baby as well and I love it. Also I have 2 of the MB 146‘s… one I got preloved and the other I inherited last year from my aunt who passed away. I think she got it herself from a late friend and never actually used it so I had to do some thorough cleaning on it, but now it works very well. I also have a Noblesse with an OBB nib in 14K, but that pen is so slim I hardly ever use it. That‘s my full Montbland collection - 4 pens… :) You‘re always so enthusiastic about the 149, so I may have to pick one up eventually. ;) Thanks for sharing, it was fun !

You know I have never tried a Montblanc but when I see a collection like this it makes me want to try some. The price point is for sure so scary lol

You have a very stunning Montblanc collection. 😍 BTW: the 585 on your Noblesse nib means 14k. and it seems to be a B nib because of the line variation. 😊

I am a fountain pen collector and I love using them. I'm saving up for a Montblanc... but, as for inks, if I can afford them, I have: Modena Red, Irish Green, Manganese Orange, my classic permanent black, Homage to Vincent Van Gogh (Turquoise), Homage to Robert Louis Stevenson (Gold Brown), Masters of Art Homage to Gustav Klimt (blue), Masters of Art Homage to Pierre Renoir (Blue), Homage to Enzo Ferrari (Purple), Meisterstück The Origin Collection Coral Red, Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days brown (this one really is black) at least for me and recently I buy the orange red for Queen

Nice collection. My 2 favorite MB pens are the Mohammed Ali & the Jimi Hendrix. I adore the detail on both pens. Not in my budget but would like used MB in Bordeaux someday😊

Thank you for the ink swatch. I just finished my bottle of Great writers Jonathan Swift. Wonderful olive color. My newest MB ink is the Unicef Blue in cartridges - I cannot decide whether to buy the bottle as well. My MB pens are the 146 and 145, as well as the 167 pencil

This is has been so much fun to watch! I love Mont Blanc fountain pens as well. I started my collection around 15 at a vintage shop, and now in my 30’s I love to collect the limited and special editions. I’m glad that you showed the pocket pen, I’m looking to get the orange/red one
