I have NO SYMPATHY for Alice. Don't care if she was pregnant. Pregnant isn't stupidity or insanity SHE KNEW WHAT SHE WAS DOING!!!!! I'd never forgive her.
I love how OP permanently severed the father/daughter ties with Alice. This is called consequence. I bet Alice though Donald showing his true self and abandoning her was bad enough, I can only imagine how OP denying her cut deep. I FELT that cut and I almost teared up, it wasn't even aimed at me.
Many step children never realize until it's to late that their deadbeat parents are a deadbeat for a valid reason and only after losing what was given to them be step parents that had no obligation to give, but did so out of love for them and they threw it away as if it was nothing
Children often forget that adulthood is not just being considered and respected as an adult, but being accountable and responsible for their own actions and words towards others and life itself
Evidently Donald seems to not know the complete quote. "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.” Alice didn’t seem to understand that trust once broken can never be fully regained/rebuilt.
I was fully expecting OP to be a weak simp in the end, as it seemed he was about to welcome Alice back after she realized that Donald had played her, I was fully ready to warn people not to bother with this story. But thankfully OP didn't. He only tolerates her for her mother's sake, but nothing more. No more familial warmth, no money, no share of the business. Just cold indifference.
Wow finally one story where the MC wasnt a silent pushover and the ending felt more like the truth. He didn't forgive her, but they remained civil for the mom's sake.
Wow, this one was good besides the last 10 minutes. Can't believe the bio. Dad confronted the daughter four separate times and the daughter left two times! Almost like AI screwed up and no one fixed it.
What's fun is knowing that Donald is going to want money again, and come back to Alice, trying to convince her that he's changed. That sort of person never changes, and he'll need money and figure that enough time has passed that he can slip in and sponge off her because enough time has passed. I hope she looks him in the eye and calls him some of the same things he called her before slamming the door in his face.
Wow. I never thought about this turn out..... I'm glad the mom stuck with him strong but he didn't have a kid of his own as a back up.... Men if you want a family start one Yourself. This was the rare good single mom but bro is literally trying to win a game someone else started and is to far in to begin a new. 😢
This story ...is one of the better ones i've heard. It shows consequences for your choices, no quick fixes, no 'oh its ok it was just a boo boo" The stepdaughters true face was shown when her sperm donor showed up trying to play daddy. She had to have daddy issues, abandonment issues, loyalty issues .... that needed therapy. oh ya and she needs an ophthalmologist (eye dr) because she needs to open her eyes and SEE who the real 'dad' was all those years and it wasnt the deadbeat sperm donor. Just glad his mask came off at last and told her the truth 28:50 "You're worthless Alice....deserve better than a weak gullible daughter like you. Youre pathetic.... i barely knew you and from what i've seen you're not worth knowing, you're just as pathetic now as when I left you the first time." these are the words form her 'real father' who she willingly promised anything to because her worth was only in what she could earn him. She didnt deserve the stepdad's devotion, protection, care, and love that he gave her for 20 years, even building a company so that she would have stability and she threw it away over a scam artist sperm donor. She threw away a real father ON PURPOSE, one choice at a time and ultimately destroyed their bond for a POS. After you hurt someone enough, they can remember they loved you but the same love they had for you, is gone. You can forgive them, but the bond you had, is broken and will never be the same again.
