※ This video is an excerpt from *DocuPrime - Honeybees: Part 1 The Honeybee Galaxy, Part 3 The Story of Two Queens*, which aired on June 23 and 30, 2025.

Honeybees are special. Co-evolving with flowers 130 million years ago, they are nature's magicians who aid plant reproduction and produce honey that condenses the sun's energy. They have built their own kingdoms using their unique methods of communication, and within that universe, there are still many unsolved mysteries. Furthermore, approximately 75% of the world's major crops bear fruit with the help of honeybees. However, their ecosystem is currently in danger due to recent environmental pollution and global warming.

The protagonists of The Story of Two Queens are a queen Asian giant hornet attempting to raid a hive to feed her offspring, and a honeybee queen who lost her kingdom to that attack. The Asian giant hornet is the honeybee's greatest natural enemy. Although tens of thousands of worker bees fend off its attacks, one colony was destroyed by the hornet's scheme. A honeybee queen, having barely survived a ruthless invasion, establishes a new kingdom; the very process of building this kingdom perfectly illustrates the ecological characteristics of honeybees. However, this time, the victorious Asian giant hornet queen falls into crisis. It is at the hands of her greatest natural enemy: humans. Although she merely serves as a population regulator in the Earth's ecosystem, the Asian giant hornet queen has become an object of loathing, subjected to excessive hatred by humans. What will we truly come to realize through their struggle for survival? You will encounter an amazing drama unfolding within a single universe.
