Bad Creepypasta was a classic for me, I remember binge-watching and looking forward to new videos from this series back in 2013 or 2014, when I first started watching this series of funny videos.

Man, this brings back some wonderful memories. I was a 5th grader when I negan watching this series. Ive graduated now and its still going. Glad to still be around.

I've really missed Bad Creepypasta. I cheered out loud at the end when you brought out the Jeffvoice.

Thanks for another compilation.

Bad creepypasta is back!🎉

The boys and Gemma are back at it again!

finally, new background noise for my runescape sessions. great to see the crew in action again

Oh please don't tell me YouTube's AI system has bungled the video time markers.

Been watching you guys for about 9 years now good stuff as always.

I might not be up to speed with whatever's going on, but what's with everything concerning Toby being wiped from your channel? Even the super brit bros changed all that too.
Regardless, another bangers compiled into a longer banger. Also looking forward to the movie.

I've always hated the "fOreiGn LaNguAGe spOOky!" trope in creepypastas.

Like, I understand what they're going for: if you don't understand the language in question, it can fall into the fear of the unknown. They're trying to replicate the feeling one might get from watching a weird foreign-language video late at night and not understanding what any of the on-screen messages actually mean, or hearing about a weird cheat code for Sonic CD, putting it in, and being confronted with the infamous "Fun is Infinite" screen. This is why stories that try to employ this trope usually pick Japanese, Russian, Arabic or some other such language because none of them use the Latin alphabet, which makes the written message even less comprehensible because you may not even be able to sound out the words ('course, by that logic, Armenian, Mongolian, Greek, and Linear B are 2 spOokY 5 mE, but you get the point).

...But that hinges on you not understanding the language. It is a trope that is literally only effective if you're ignorant.

As a linguistics nerd, who's taken the time to familiarize myself with spoken and written languages of all kinds, I've always found that to be really annoying more than anything else. There's nothing inherently scary about the Cyrillic script. It's your inability to read Cyrillic and understand the message written within that's scary. And although I personally don't like the trope, I can understand how it might be a good accompaniment to already good horror.

Which leads me to the point that this trope works best in a ***visual medium***, not in a written medium. What in the world is the point of the author saying "and then i saw a spooky message in russian... aaaand heres the translation your welcome" when the whole trope's effectiveness hinges on you being confronted with something alien to you, and not knowing what the meaning is?? It's just so stupid.

And on top of *all* that, if you do decide to include a foreign language in your story as part of the scare factor: **what is the plot significance?** What's the point of Russian text being at the end of Sυιςιδε Mouse? Did the Russians make the film while in the middle of economic despair? If so, wwwhhhyyy? Why is the Chao in "Chao's Demise" named "Quārē?" Are we supposed to believe that the Chao is possessed by a demon, or by a Roman Legionnaire who drowned because Publius Claudius Pulcher didn't listen to the chickens? Why are the characters in "Aaaah! Real Monsters: The Final Scare" also speaking Latin? What even is the point?

A good story that employs this trope, in my opinion, is the video series "CH:SS" on YouTube. It was made a long while ago, but a lot of it still holds up, and one of the things it does, especially in the early videos, is it often displays Russian text with spooooky imagery. Normally this would make me groan, but a) you do not need to understand the messages to follow what's happening in the story, and b) there is an actual plot reason why it's Russian and not some other foreign-script language.

TL;DR: The sentence "I was afraid of Russian text" in the "Girl's Jungle Trap" story pretty much explains everything wrong with this creepypasta trope. In the minds of these writers, that is where the thought process behind the trope's inclusion begins and ends. It's pretty much the same problem with "oh look guys look at all the gore and the hyper-realistic blood isnt it scaaaarry?" Gore can augment horror that is already good on its own. It is not scary in and of itself.

Holy shit this is a great day

Bro I miss this

I'm writing my thesis right now and this just popped up on my phone, these dumpster fires make me feel better about my writing XD

Return of the king.

It is eerily quiet, I alone wait for the Premiere, a lone watcher.

sad to miss the premiere but so excited!!

holy eff.... could it be ??? NEW BCP ???? I don't need to listen to the same episodes on repeat for the rest of my life ????

Man I'm glad the series is kiiinda back, but I'm sad that Toby ended up being a creep, he was like one of the funniest people in the series, but nothing justifies being a weirdo (even though I don't know very much about the whole situation, but I already have an idea of what he did by reading this video's comment section). Nonetheless, I'm happy to see you guys back on track with this! Looking forward to what y'all do next!
