I’ve been feeling SO overwhelmed lately that instead of getting more done… I’ve been getting almost nothing done. 😅 So this week, I decided to try something different: JUST TWO THINGS.
Every day for 7 days, I’m giving myself permission to forget the giant to-do list and just get TWO things done around my home. That means by the end of the week, I’ll have 14 things DONE—without spending my entire life working on projects.
This week we’re decorating for fall and Halloween, styling thrifted and vintage finds, tackling some long-overdue home projects, hanging a Facebook Marketplace find, doing a couple of easy DIYs, and even fighting with a mattress. 😂
But this video is about more than decorating.
My life looks very different now than it did when I started YouTube almost 8 years ago, and I’m realizing that the expectations I have for myself need to change too. I want to spend time creating and decorating my home because I LOVE it—not because every project has to become one more huge thing on my to-do list.
So if you’re a busy, overwhelmed mom who has a million things you’d love to get done but never enough time to do them, come do this with me. ❤️
Pick two things.
They can take 5 minutes or an hour. They don’t have to be impressive. Just get TWO things done, and then go live your life.
You don’t need enough time to do everything. You just need enough time to do two things.

This is the second video that I have heard about just doing a little bit each day and take it as a win. I've been overwhelmed because of illness and age and I'm a perfectionist and I can't keep my house the way I used to so I just haven't been doing anything and that's for making me depressed. So I'm going to try to accomplish just two things a day or maybe just maybe it'll motivate me to do a little bit more I'm going to learn to take the little wins if I can

Imm 77. I was exactly like you when I was young. People got tired just listening to what I would accomplish in a day. Its all seasons in your life and you have to not expect to do what you did in your last season. The journey goes quick, give yourself permission to slow down .❤

Good for you. Sometimes, we all get to a point that we are overwhelmed and have to come to terms that we can't do it all. We have to slow down a little and ask for help sometimes. Guess what it is really ok. Keep up the good work you got this.

The porch looks great. Don’t be so hard on yourself. “Inch by. Inch, life is a cinch. Yard by yard, it is very very hard.” And if it doesn’t get done, only you will know. Your family comes first. Get some help with projects. Don’t neglect yourself. Your 2 things a day sounds good to me! Hang In there. ❤

I went thru every room of my house and made a list of things I wanted to do clean our rearranging or just dusting a corner…..it helps me when I start marking things off ….instead of big projects I broke them down to manageable projects…..has made a big difference

Oh Julie, I can totally relate to you and what you are saying. I’m 76 years old and I experienced the same thing with three little ones back in the day. I finally made myself a job jar. It’s a mason jar with strips of paper listing every single thing that needed to get done. I wrote things like “clean out the hall closet”, “ organize the shed“, “clean out the dining room China cabinet“ etc on strips of paper. I would pull one strip every day and not work on anything else and finish that job and throw that strip away. I think it kept me focused from doing 1 million things at one time. I’m glad that you made the decision to take time and enjoy your family. You do such a great job and thank God for me that there wasn’t YouTube back in the day. That’s a job I didn’t have to do.

I sometimes have the same problem. My projects live in my head way too long. I keep reminding myself myself that 1015 minutes 30 minutes a day is better than nothing. It all adds up.

I love this idea!! Today I'm going to dark wax a wooden tray to give it some luster and clean some faux floral arrangements. Now instead of looking at all these projects and wishing they were done, they'll get done little by little and I can enjoy the process more by not feeling I have to carve out entire days to get them accomplished. I get so many wonderful ideas from you. I use many of them on a much smaller scale. But I love it. Also, just a bit of friendly advice. When you finally put your plant in soil put it back in the spot you propagated it in. It's already stressed from going to soil, it won't get the light it needs on that shelf. Then move it around slowly until it get used to all the changes. May I add, you're doing a great job and your "2 a day" projects is a fabulous idea.
