Some guy just said "Some guy actually literally wrote an entire essay about Peter Parker like what 😭🥀" 😭🥀

Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), a socially awkward high school student living in Queens, New York, resides with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. He is infatuated with his neighbor Mary Jane Watson (Krinsten Dunst) but is too shy to express his feelings. During a school field trip to a genetics laboratory at Columbia University, Peter is bitten by a genetically engineered spider, which triggers a dramatic transformation, granting him superhuman strength, agility, the ability to cling to walls, and a “spider-sense” that warns him of danger, along with the ability to shoot webs from his wrists

Initially, Peter uses his powers for personal gain, entering a wrestling match to earn money. However, his irresponsibility indirectly leads to the tragic death of his Uncle Ben at the hands of a carjacker Peter could have stopped. This pivotal moment instills in him the guiding principle: “With great power comes great responsibility”

Motivated by this lesson, Peter designs a costume and adopts the masked persona of Spider-Man, dedicating himself to fighting crime in New York City. His heroics draw the attention and ire of J. Jonah Jameson, editor of the Daily Bugle, who labels Spider-Man a menace

Meanwhile, Norman Osborn, the father of Peter’s best friend Harry and head of Oscorp, experiments with a performance-enhancing chemical that grants him superhuman abilities but drives him insane, transforming him into the Green Goblin. The Goblin becomes a formidable adversary, targeting Spider-Man and those close to him, including Mary Jane and Peter’s Aunt May

The two clash multiple times, culminating in a final confrontation on the Queensboro Bridge, where Spider-Man must choose between saving Mary Jane or a tram full of children. Ultimately, Spider-Man defeats the Green Goblin, solidifying his role as a protector of the city

The film explores Peter’s journey from a timid, bullied teenager to a responsible superhero, balancing personal struggles, romance, and the moral weight of his powers. Iconic moments include Peter’s first web-slinging adventures, the upside-down kiss with Mary Jane, and his ongoing battle against the Green Goblin, establishing the foundation for the Spider-Man trilogy directed by Sam Raimi
