There is a second, more traditional Orange Lantern oath I should have noted in the video: "This power is mine, this is my light. Be it bright of day, or black of night. I lay claim to all that lays within my sight. To take what I want, that is my right!"

whats mine and mine and mine and mine  and mine not yours
                                                                                                 - your dearest larfleez

Apparently the ring also comes with washboard abs.

Atrocious was a therapist before his family was murdered.😥😥😥

Fun fact: ROYGBIV
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
Green can affect so many of the other corps because it is the most stable (i.e. the exact middle of the spectrum) and why the Guardians chose it as their power. The further out you go from the center, the more unstable the individual wielding the light becomes. Therefore Red and Violet Lanterns are the least stable and most likely to give into the emotion totally, entirely erasing their individuality.

Scarecrow with the yellow ring is my favorite thing ever

I love how you got right into it without any long intro or anything

I love how the Violet Lantern Corps have evolved over the years. I'm also glad that Carol is now a hero and the lore of the Star Sapphire seems to be getting more of a focus in the comics, as they should considering both have been around for as long as Hal has.

The Lantern Corps are honestly the most interesting aspect of the cosmic side of DC canon. My favourites are Blue and Indigo, with honourable mentions to Green and Violet.

On the Orange Lantern oath specifically, I know some people prefer the fan made “This power is mine, this is my light…” version, but I think the canon “mine, mine, mine… NOT YOURS” is much better for Larfleeze. The fan version makes him sound way too rational and grandiose, like he has some coherent philosophy of ownership. He doesn’t. He just wants things because he wants them. “NOT YOURS” also matters because his avarice is not just about possessing everything, but about making sure nobody else has it which the fan version misses entirely. And since the Orange “Corps” is basically just Larfleeze, a polished ceremonial oath like the other Corps would miss what makes him unique.

Well, now we know what happened to the people writing verses for Hallmark cards

15:02 My favorite oath 😂😂😂

I’m fascinated by the idea of the grey lantern corp of sorrow but so far it has been but a face-value depiction. Sorrow is a deep well that requires nuance and wisdom to plumb the depths.

Imagine Scrooge McDuck or mr Krabs with an orange lantern 💀💀💀🪎🪎🪎💀💀💀

My favorite concept in all of DC, all of comics. I wish we had a successful TV Show/Movie series featuring the Lantern Corps.

Blue rings actually keep many abilities even without a green ring. It can fly, create a vaccum seal shield, energy blast, SOME constructs and moderate healing.

"In desperate day, In hopeless night,
The Phantom Ring is our last light.
We yearn for power, strength and might
I seize the ring, that is my right!"

The Blue lanterns are my favorite

The orange outh is simple but crazy 😢

The Blue Lanterns are my favorite ☺️
