Seeing Vinnie in a jam with Thundercat of all people makes me feel things

Man, what can you say? One of the greatest of his generation or any generation for that matter.

Vinnie has got to be one of the ALL-TIME greats, really.

'I auditioned for Frank Zappa on the drumset of Terry Bozzio. It was a doublekick and I've never played them before, but I said, Screw this - I'm going for it!' - Vinnie Colaiuta.

The best thing for me about Vinnie is that he does all this crazy stuff, and then goes out on tour with sting and plays songs.

People say that there's no such thing as "Best Drummer in the world". I gotta say, It has to be Vinnie.

This I why I use to watch him as a young teen back in the 80’s! He took me places that I had to learn to explore and learn to play ALL STYLES OF MUSIC!!!

Vinnie's playing is so unpredictable. That's why there are only two drummers in the world. Vinnie and others.

My most favourite drummer of all time.

With Vin. I never hear drums I always hear music. Not too many drummers can do that..

So wonderful to see a video comp of recent Vinnie, STILL, completely at the top of his game and absolutely killing it.

The only one who can solo in 7/13th, with his other hand eating sushi while he's looking at the sheet music for the next song.

He is the top of the top. Beside his extreme musical and technical skills, for me, what makes him the best is that somehow I never ever see him hesitating even for a split second. Each and every single hit is 120% confident and powerful. His playing tells me and makes me feel that what he does it has to happen excactly that way it actually happens. There is no question.

Lucky I have been to be a drummer growing up in New York in the 70's and 80's...I got to see maybe the 2 greatest drummers ever..!! Tony Williams and Vinnie...and seeing both many..many times..too  many to count...Been following Vinnie all my life ( we are the same age )....and seeing Tony before we lost him...BOTH..!! breath Fire..!!!With Vinnie being very similar in style..They are for me the Greatest players...Ever..!!!

12:24 is the ultimate "Vinnie-ism".  One of those total subtle badass fills that he does.  Some mega fast triplets with ghost notes on the snare, then this super-creative hi-hat bark, all while never losing the backbeat.   GOAT.

First I’m listening to this guy (other than Zappa back in the day), my friend said “he’s the GOAT” & wow I’m not sure I could argue. This guy can do IT ALL.

Neither Vinnie nor anyone else can be considered the GOAT drummer, but if there is ANYONE who is in the conversation, it is Vinnie Colaiuto.  He sight read The Black Page -- while drinking a Coke!

As a Gospel, Jazz Fusion drummer I’m confident that Vinnie is among the greatest drummers to have ever lived, most likely even the best. It’s really, REALLY hard to think of a singular player who completely embodies what it means to be a drummer (oh and btw, Matt Gartska seconds this opinion)

Every time I hear another drummer who is in the upper echelon trying to take the crown, I come back to Vinnie clips and am quickly brought back to reality.  The guy is a jack of all trades and a master of them, too.  Rare air this guy breathes.

Legit just discovered this dude less then 5 mins ago and plan on watching this whole video til the end
