The sheer irony of Jinnah, telling Pakistanis the language of the state is going to be Urdu...in English!!!

Wow, 43% of the country telling the other 57% "You need to speak MY language"? Talk about the tail wagging the dog!

Today's Bangladesh needs to be shown this documentary to open their eyes about how their forefathers were treated by Pakistan 🙏

Mujib wasn't at the center of the language movement, and the clips that you showed of Mujib weren't from the time of language movement. But he sure did some huge work building that movement.

This film needs showing every year in Bangladesh to remind the young people on how badly they were treated by Pakistan

The contempt that Pakistani elites have for normal Pakistanis is unreal. 14:15

It's bizzare that biggest funders of Pakistan movement were old feudal lords of Dhaka //geopolitics is so weird

I’m absolutely appalled at the level of censorship youtube is running. Grow a pair y’all and let people see what’s playing

Just compare it with india.... almost every state has its own language and Nehru never told us that if anyone tells you that hindi is not the state language than he is an enemy of India...

As someone half Bengali half Pakistani, my Pakistani family just refuse to acknowledge any of this. When I bring it up, it’s 15 VS 1 and I just can’t defend myself and am left to look unintelligent and a “typical brainwashed Gen Z”.

I’ve decided to just leave it, it makes me anxious and insecure.

34:34 JJ Singh was not the Army Chief, he was the Eastern Command GOC-in-C, Manekshaw was the Chief

As a Pakistani I apologize for our actions against the innocent people of Bangladesh. Our 93,000 surrender and defeat well deserved. Bangladesh deserved that independence.

And now sheik Hasina is gone. same bullshit is going on in Pakistan. They were like hell when united. they are also living like hell when separated. bitter and cruel reality.

Thank you. I had been waiting for a detailed and relatively unbiased documentary about this topic for so long.

I was a German pupil at this time

And i felt so sad for the terrible situation of Bangla Desh.

Today this is a successful country!

That must have been the most artificial state in modern history I know of - not only did they speak completely different language, even use very different writing, but also were they separated by half a continent from each other.

This documentary draws a true picture how the Bengalis were being treated in Pakistan before their Independence in 1971. Their Bangla language was not even recognised as second language of Pakistan n they had to give blood for it. Their share in Govt jobs was negligible n were treated as inferior race unfit for army jobs n this continued till 1971. Need to show this documentary to the  Bangladeshi young people who are changing Bangladeshi n Pakistani bhai bhai.  Bangladeshi people should learn to respect n regard their hard earned Independence full of blood n sacrifices. Religion is not above Independence. Never forget how many women were rapped, students were killed by Pakistan army on the very first night of 26th March 1971 n continued till 16th dec 1971.

Really a very informative documentary presenting correct facts. The interviews also help us to learn more and analyze. However, the role of Dhaka University students and professors could be described more as it was the intellectual center of this Freedom movement. Many students and Professors sacrificed their lives, several were killed. It brings tears to our eyes and at the same time acts as a continuous inspiration. It would be better if a separate documentary could be made on the history of the Dhaka University, especially its role in the Freedom Movement of Bangladesh.

The Erly American Colonists almost went out then the Natives shared how to make Corn n wheat.

it was brutality of Islamic conquest where people of west asia had to adopt arabic script and adopt arabic language in middle east.

Bengalis were too far from the west asia and they had pride and islam came to east very late were spared from adopting Arabic script and language.
