I remember Groucho saying that TV was very educational
Every time someone turned one on
he would open a book

The level of respect that young Johnny Carson shows to Groucho Marx is incredible.

My proudest possession: a letter signed from Groucho.

We will never have this form of entertainment again. Absolutely legendary.

'A man is only as young as the woman he's feeling'- Groucho Marx.

Groucho was 75 at that time, still sharp as a tack.

I remember watching Groucho and Johnny Carson with my Grandpa.  I sure do miss all 3 of them.

Groucho had a limited education and read voraciously to compensate. He was deeply honoured and proud to have his written works included in the Library of Congress; possibly more than any recognition he received as an actor and comedian.

Groucho was a funny man but he took his country and its history seriously. An awesome American! If only more Americans were more like him.

The fact that he literally just walked into the studio and walked onto the set and the show. No booking. No agent. No announcement. Just shows up and says "Well, the hell with it if they don't like it."  Thankfully Johnny respected Groucho and the two of them were friends.

Growing up, Groucho was my hero as a kid, and a living legend. That his personal papers are included in the National Library is supremely appropriate.

Carson had the respect and confidence to be the straight man for Groucho. Pure class. And he looked so pleased when Groucho appeared.

He never finished school but he was better educated than anyone graduating today...

"Say the secret word and Groucho will come to your house." Great lol moment. And the eyebrow raise makes it even funnier. And then Groucho's reply, "My dressing room isn't good enough for her." That's the icing on the cake.

Watching Groucho on a talk show is like getting an itch in the centre of your back scratched

Marx was so sharp and quick. I love his humor.

Groucho was on Johnny's first tonight show appearance. It was a surprise there was no musical intro. My favorite part is when he called Ed McMahon laughing boy

"How are you?  More importantly, who are you?"

Classic Groucho Marx.

Groucho is very proud of this invitation from the Library of Congress as he should be and you can see it on his face.

Groucho was a thoughtful man, certainly not a one-dimensional laugh track to be sure. Legend!
