WAIT WAIT WAIT I HAVE A THEORY!
What if the only reason Wybe was there to smash the other mothers hand was because one of the ghosts was his lil brother/sister and he didnt believe him/her when they talked about the other world and he blames himself for what happened! And his parents didnt care (cause of a pattern in the kids they all had families that didnt 'love' them) and Wybe's parents went crazy after their little son/daughter disappeared so Wybe got sent off to live with his grandmother and the reason Wybe knows its a never ending well is because maybe his grandmother is the other mother but in human disguise because Wybe gave the doll to Coraline that the other mother made. This makes absolutely no sense but meh-
