110km through the stunning Lake District⦠but when the weather turns, this ultra marathon becomes a serious test of endurance!
Join me for the Seven Valleys Ultra 110K, an epic Lake District ultramarathon featuring rugged mountain trails, steep climbs, boggy ground, brutal wind and torrential rain. Can I finish within my 24-hour target?
The Seven Valleys Ultra starts in Ambleside and takes runners on a challenging journey through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Lake District before finishing in Keswick. I'm hoping to complete the 110km course in around 24 hours, but with approximately 3,500 metres of climbing and some seriously challenging terrain, there's plenty that could go wrong.
The day starts with beautiful scenery and relatively runnable trails. But as the kilometres tick by, we face rocky paths, boggy ground, long mountain climbs and increasingly difficult weather conditions. By the time darkness falls, we're battling driving rain, powerful winds, poor visibility and slippery descents high in the fells.
Along the way, I'll show you the checkpoints, the food and fuelling that keep me moving, the kit I'm using, and what it's really like to spend an entire day and night running through the Lake District.
We also meet other runners tackling this incredible challenge, including runners taking on some of their biggest races yet. And when the going gets tough, a little checkpoint pizza can make all the difference!
I've previously run Lakes in a Day and the Lakeland 100, but the Seven Valleys Ultra delivers its own unique challenge. Watch until the end to see me cross the finish line in Keswick and hear my thoughts on an unforgettable race.
