Isn't there a place near you that you've always wanted to visit?

This time, after 58 years of living and growing up in Osaka, I finally visited Shitennoji Temple alone for the first time!

It's Japan's oldest official temple, built by Prince Shotoku. I was constantly amazed by the unusual layout (Shitennoji-style temple complex) with its buildings aligned in a straight line from north to south, the five-story pagoda you can actually climb, and the "Turtle Pond" with its surprisingly large number of turtles. I never imagined such a magnificent place existed so close to home!

On the way back, I planned to buy the famous dorayaki from the nearby Akanemaru Honten and eat it at Nagai Park, but... June 1st was a scorching 33 degrees Celsius in early summer! It was so hot my face turned bright red, so I decided to change my plans. This is a down-to-earth holiday vlog of me enjoying dorayaki in the cool living room of my home.

Whether you're a local or not, I hope you enjoy exploring Osaka with me.
