Failed Fence

Urban Combatives

Quick clip from a little drill that we did during last Wed night's UC class. Looking at an immediate response to someone slapping your hands down within the criteria of trying to remove a barrier, in order to create thoroughfare to assault! Brings back to the fore the idea from the Legendary Geoff Thompson's 2 touch rule from the fence! Just a fun drill to play with! Enjoy LM

I always have to laugh when I watch these videos, then scroll down to see the thumbs up and thumbs down...anyone who puts the thumb down is just clueless. Love Mr. Morrison's work

This is really good stuff.

After reading Geoff's book at 16 in 1992, and then working the doors full time from 18 to 29 in very rough places.

This is the reality, this is what works, this is what you need to know, (at least you did back then).

A self defence class is not going to cut it.

The psychological aspects are greater than the physical, it takes relatively little effort to knock someone out.

To not freeze take far more mental training.

This takes me back to a better time, which would probably sound messed up to most.

The first thought in my mind after taking one look at him is,"There's no way in hell I am fucking with that guy."

First video if seen with these guy's! I've been a professional bouncer since I left the force's just over 25 year's ago. I used to do a bit boxing. But now train MMA. I haven't seen this particular drill before. But I gurentee I will be practicing it tomorrow morning, at training. After many hundreds of fights over my years as a bouncer, private security and military career. I know this is a situation that happens very regularly. And this looks to be a very good and fast follow up. I will be watching more video's in the future.

I remember when Geoff Thomson first appeared in MAI in the mid 90’s (I think) and tore the roof off the U.K. martial arts scene.

Best self defence videos on the internet by far.
Thank you very much to Lee and the UC team.

Just found this channel and have trained in defensive tactics and Krav Maga and I can say as a Doorman / Security Officer of 23 years and counting the techniques shown absolutely work in the real world.

Now that I practice this at home for my training I remember I got into a situation couple years back on the subway in new York City and I perform this technique by putting my left hand as a warning sign to stop and as he slap my hand I came with right jab . Full force never seen a man eye roll back it took that man to realize what just happen so I can imagine how effect this technique will be

Fantastic stuff as always. Glad to see some ads before the video. Hope Lee makes some money from this channel.

The BEST of the BEST self protection Training!

I've practiced Wing Tsun and was tickled to see similar ideas being used here. I've noticed lots of self defense-oriented systems (including WT) have something in common: They rely on simple, distance-closing, gross-motor actions, because in a self defense scenario, your body may be so flooded with adrenaline, etc., that you need something simple, efficient, and reliable to defend yourself. I find that's the difference between stuff like this and combat sports (not that combat sports are ineffective by any means, of course).
