The S&P 500, gold and oil aren’t giving me much to work with right now — but that doesn’t mean there aren’t trades setting up elsewhere.

I found three swing-trade setups in markets most investors are barely watching: a nuclear-energy breakout, an oil-services turnaround and what I believe is one of the strongest trend-following markets in the world right now. Plus, I’ll show you two markets that are starting to worry me and a bonus tech short setup.

My approach here is simple: I don’t need the S&P 500 or NASDAQ to be making big moves to find opportunities. I’m looking for markets where the technical setup is already improving or deteriorating. The nuclear trade is beginning to break out, Halliburton is trying to turn from support, and Japan remains one of my favorite trend-following setups. On the other side, Thailand and Vietnam are showing increasing weakness, while Broadcom stands out as a potential short because of its significant relative weakness versus the broader tech sector.
