About DIY Danie:
Some of the wisest words I’ve ever heard came from a fictional children's television show where a spontaneous and courageous teacher named Mrs. Frizzle preached the motto- TAKE CHANCES, GET MESSY, MAKE MISTAKES. These are six words I’ve carried with me my whole life. To be creative, you must be willing to try new ideas, take risks and boldly go where no creative soul has gone before! You might mess up, but that’s okay because you most likely pushed yourself to new ideas, new ways of thinking and learned a little something along the way! Welcome to my channel: DIY Danie, a place made for all the creative junkies, DIY warriors, home decor inspirers and interior decorating seekers like me, who need a place to feel inspired and motivated to try new ideas in their home!

DANI, THE SPONSOR IS A SCAM!!!! Please cancel any contract you have with them asap!! A bunch of YouTubers have been scammed by Established Titles — they aren’t paying ANYONE!! Everyone please like this so Dani sees!! MrBallen posted about it in his community so you can see what I’m talking about

Hi @DIY Danie! Just wanted to flag that Established Titles has been debated and proven for a while to be a scam, meaning that no land ownership is actually legally recognized by Scotland, and taking this sponsorship might be a bit ethically tricky. Figured I'd raise the concern, in case others were considering purchasing from them.

Wow the amount of work that went into the flip is insane, the cabinet looks nothing like it used to!
And congrats to you both for the future garage/studio space, can't wait for the future video about the whole process!

Even for a modern piece $150 is still a pretty good price. Everything is so impossibly expensive right now that if you find something that's the design that you want and looks even mostly solid you gotta jump on that! I love the paper on the shelves and the complimentary color is really nice. I think papering the complete inside would be too much, so just the shelves is the perfect accent.

Haven't watched the makeover yet buuuuuuttt HUGE congrats on the new garage/DIY studio....it's something you've worked hard for and will make a huge difference to your work- just make sure you have stairs that are 'easily' manouverable/add a winch out the window for big projects 😂😂

P.s really doesn't matter that the cabinet was reproduction rather than vintage as it turned out beautifully😊

Yay! Good morning DIY friends! 🤗🪚🎨🧶📐🪞🎉🥰

Actually looks 100% better in the light color! Beautiful job!

I thought it was done and you said it was missing something. Once again you were right and I was wrong. You accomplished a white wash just right! ❤️. Exciting news about your new studio space.

@katparadox4339 3 years ago

Odd one maybe... but don't forget to add a toilet in your new build! There would be nothing worse than walking out to your house in the middle of winter just to have a pee after that second coffee!

@lovingmayberry307 3 years ago

So glad you white-washed it! Looks awesome! 👍💙✌️

Just a suggestion on the new build ... A dumb waiter lift would really be helpful to get all those DIYs on the second floor

My dad have 2 barrister cabinets that I want so bad. But he is giving me his surveying cabinet that I will be using to display my jewelry for my Etsy shop. Woo hoo❤

Loved the piece. The paper you added was beautiful. Whitewashing at the end made all the difference and heightened the look. Turned out fabulous.

You should be sure to put an elevator in the new garage. They make them for garages and we have one. I wish ours was bigger but it has been a great asset. The floor lies flush with the second story floor when the elevator is up and it drops down through the garage ceiling when in use. It is more of a lift than an elevator but you should look into it if you are diying larger pieces on the second floor or even for transporting wood up and down.

My husband is a kiwi from Dunedin, the Edinburgh of New Zealand. I am soooo getting him a plot for Christmas!!

I had one of those Sauder Barristers bookcase! I remember paying an absurd price for a fake wood assemble it yourself piece of furniture but it was so gorgeous I had to have it. Not only that but it fit in the space it was going into. It was lost in a storage unit fire when we were moving to our new office. I was heartbroken. I was able to track one down online today and it was $700 - used! You got a great deal and what you did with it was pure magic. Congrats on getting married. Congrats on the coming new garage & workspace. I'm so happy such good things are happening in your life!
