Upcoming Live Shows, Do come say hello! I'm back on tour with live shows a plenty all listed at https://davidnihill.com/
Please always use the links direct to venues on my website to avoid scammers and overpriced resellers.

This one has been a while in the making, 177 shows across 17 countries and this is the pile of lunacy I was left with. I know a show mixing books and comedy is pretty random but I asked myself if I was talking with my friends what would I be telling them about and the answer was books, travel, learning languages and a wee bit of random history and trivia so here it is. I realise many of you are in countries that I didn’t visit for a live show or tried to get tickets to shows that were sold out so I wanted to release the show as it was done live, in its way too long entirety. This verion was taped in Madison, WI, USA.

Wee Disclaimer: I don’t write jokes, being dyslexic I don’t write much of anything. Just a key word, memory or idea and what comes out subsequently is a collection of analogies, trivia, history, stories, and facts that takes form through time spent speaking with people. For me this can be comedy. For you it might not, and that’s ok. Everyone finds comedy and truth in different things so if you don’t like it, like the last episodes of Game of Thrones let’s pretend it never happened. If you do please comment, like and share! If you make it to the end you’ll get a few surprises and given how long it is, deserve a trophy :)

I made and funded this myself (the most expensive thing I ever paid for in my whole life) so I most definitely need your help and support if you think it might bring a few smiles and a wee bit of happiness to a friend in need or you want to send a few dollars my way:

Thanks a million for watching this pile of literal lunacy. Much appreciated. You can find the link to all the books as mentioned plus anything else I have ever enjoyed reading here: https://davidnihill.com/bookrecommendations/

I posted another version of this show taped in Seattle previously but Youtube wasn't even sharing it with my own subscribers (sorry if that happened!) which was very frustrating after so much work, so I just happened to have another version taped in Madison and wanted to try again to share it with you.

I'll be live on the chat if you have any questions when it premiers this Sunday!

If you enjoyed it please leave a comment, share with a friend or even better come see a live show with all new thoughts, stories and maybe even books. I have just added over 50 new tour dates all on sale listed via davidnihill.com. Thanks a million!

I’m a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. During the Irish Potato Famine, the Choctaw Nation sent money to the people of Ireland in the same spirit that you talk about here. This was just a couple years after the Choctaw Nation was removed from their homelands by the American government on the trail of tears. There’s now a beautiful monument to the Choctaw Nation in Ireland for this generous act. I thought this was a great through-line to that wonderful story of the Grapefruit Ladies!

Oh, I did not know his mother had passed away.

Love and strength for you, David, I'm sure you miss her terribly, I hope you have people around you that can be with you in a time like this.

I've been in a really bad mental place over the last while, so thank you for reminding my brain that it can make happy-chemicals for a little while.

This show deserves more publicity. A unique, relatable, hilarious comedian.

Watching this will be one of the best times of your life. You will learn that David is a dynamo of energy as he narrates you through his adventures, you will learn that he has a brilliant mind and is much more intelligent than you ever gave him credit for, and you will have some of the best laughs that you’ve had in years. Enjoy!!!

I came for comedy, and got a lot more. Quite refreshingly original, unique, diverse, witty, down to earth comedic spin

It is 4:30 AM in the morning and I stumbled across this while I couldn’t sleep and not feeling well and I find myself alone alone in the living room. Try not to laugh too loudly out loud so thanks for this. I am actually having a good time despite not feeling well.

Every time i listen to you, my dyslexic writer self gets unduly encouraged. Thank you so very much for the video and all the work that preceded it.

Intelligent observational humor can be frightening. Facts and the truth is so foreign to we Americans. This guy, is so matter of fact and funny that it's revolutionary for a public speaker and a comic. We need more exposure to this genre of educational humor. Bravo!...to David!!

From a South African with Irish granddma (Lennox) who married my Scottish grandpa (Mackenzie) & both were raised by German mothers; my Dad thought he was German, turns out he's Corgi enough to have had direct ancestors on the throne for 300y! 🤣 thanks for reminding me of the grapefruit ladies! I was raised a liberal progressive in an apartheid home, where my mom's best friend was her home helper & my 'black mom'.
And thank you for validating my thoughts on Catch 22!

43:29 As a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker, you have captured this country's collective experience perfectly! The whole show is so good but this part actually got me in stitches.

The plot twist is that David didn't even write this.

It was the damn corgis.

I was sitting on the back lanai after dinner letting YouTube play in the background. Seems I dozed off in my chair and when I woke, it was 20 minutes into your Shelf Help tour video.
I’m in the over 55 club and I have to say I haven’t had a chuckle like this in a long, long time.
From my inner being I say a hearty Thank You for the laughter and joy you bring to the world. In today’s environment it’s hard to find something that everyone can agree upon, You being an amazing comic is one thing I think none can doubt.
Keep sharing your positive energy, keep blessing people with your contagious, and infectious humor. You truly are doing the Lords work of bringing Joy to the world.

Thank you!
