Lightwish kindly sent me this set to try out, and I was pleasantly surprised! Whilst not professional soft pastels, I think these are the best of the mid range soft pastels I've tried, including Paul Rubens, Jackson's Art and Arrtx.

How beautiful your artwork and soft pastels

They look really nice. I might treat myself to do some practice and learn about how to use soft pastels. I’ve just applied for a part time fine art course at my local college for next year, I have an interview on Monday!!! 55 and still learning. My kids think I’m weird 😂 xx

That was really useful - thank you! Also, I really loved watching you work on the painting!

Great technique and review of the Lightwish soft pastels. Really enjoyed watching your strokes of the scene and bringing it to life!

Your painting is so beautiful 👏

Love the gray-day painting! No one here would ever take the bet, but I bet the "normal" lightfast rating of 1 will prove to be that brighter pink. Thank you for running the test, Helen.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful art and review for us. This video is really helpful.

So enjoyed your art demo and it turned out beautifully! Inspiring me to try again and get past the sneezing somehow!

The thing about Lightwish products is that you can't get attached to anything because they don't tend to keep anything permanently stocked. It's probably best to stick with legacy brands

That second try of colors is fantastic. Love how the painting turned out. Will you post the lightfast results?

I haven’t watched the whole video yet but I’m just so shocked that for the first time ever something arty was substantially cheaper in Australia. I paid $80AU which is about 42 pounds for the 120 set

Adding to say what a gorgeous drawing you did, the sea is amazing

Beautiful work, Helen, bravo!
I wonder whether the same Canson Mi-Teintes Velvet paper but in one of the soft brown tones would have made a difference in the overall effect of the painting.
Even so, the painting is stunning 🤩

Hullo Helen, Emma Colbert Art has just posted a video showing her lightfast tests on this and other bargain brand soft pastels. I hope you and your viewers can check it out! I like these sticks as they do remind me of Unison sticks, but the Unison cost more but are better quality too! Thanks for your review and painting with these sticks! It is always good to see a product in use over just a swatch video! Well and truly done!

Great review, Helen. I concur about missing the darker colors. Despite that shortcoming, will you continue to use them in the future? Please let us know the results of your lightfast testing.
