I cannot understand clients (in this case, a model) who doesn't listen to the professional who's giving them a service. Why can't they understand that if it's not possible, it is NOT possible.

I love how you and Anna would refuse to do certain service because you ultimately want the best for the client. :)

I’m a hairstylist. Most of my clients appreciate when I refuse to do something because it will be harmful to the health of their hair. Occasionally I get someone who doesn’t want to listen. I just have to let them go. I’d rather you tell people I refused to do a service than tell people I ruined your hair. Not only because I do truly care, but in the end, it’s bad for business! ❤

From the sounds of the model’s complaints, she did NOT care for her nails properly and then expects you to work miracles.

I'm a nail tech and where I live technically as soon as we see signs of un-intact or unhealthy nails we cannot continue the service whatsoever and we have to refer them to a doctor. I know there's nuances to a certain extent but I'm not gonna break the law and face fines or risk my reputation bc of someone else's mistakes 😮

Sadly she will go to another tech as you said and will get the set she wants.  Likely the onycholysis will continue to creep up the nail bed towards the base detaching more of the nail (the debris and moisture plus pressure from daily life makes this happen) and the potential is that the full nail plate detaches.  You and Anna were both consummate professionals and informed her of the proper treatment and refused to provide the service she wanted knowing it would likely further compromise her nails.  That is all you can do.

There's ignorance, then there's full-on stubbornness 🤦🏻‍♀️

As a DIYer, I have royally screwed up some of my nails during the learning process.
At one point, I had caught them on something really bad (likely because they were a bit too thin) and gotten Onycholysis halfway up the nail bed on the three longest fingers of my left hand. I really didn't want to, but I had to cut out the lifted areas. For me, it only took about 2 months for them to grow back out completely healthy. Looked terrible, but worked perfectly. It's worth it for them to look like crap for a short time if it means they'll be healthy when it's over.

Gel didn't ruin her nails. She did. They were on wayyyyy too long, and she had lifting where water got trapped.

The model did it to herself by being so neglectful. She needs to take responsibility and treat her nails kindly so she can wear nails again. People drive me nuts.

Also good to "document" the entire interaction. Good job explaining everything and the offer of treatment. Now it's documented.

It's unfortunate she didn't accept your help fully,she wants it covered and I'm sure that someone who's not up to the same ethics and standards as you will take her money and do whatever to her nails, very educational video tho , thank you for sharing 💖

I don’t understand how she was not worried about the discoloration of her nails and what it meant. Even if I covered up my nails and they were looking like that, I wouldn’t be able to forget the state they were in!

There's no way it doesn't hurt. She's lying because she thought it would get her extentions. I hurt my 4 fingers of the left hand once but I didn't know how badly hurt they were. When I was about to remove the product, I felt some burning but didn't think much of it. Luckily I removed the entire product as it was cover pink and underneath I could see the bruises that grew into an infection. My nails were completely lifted halfway and this exact green color like in the video. I treated them with vinegar and in a few days the infection was gone but it was a horrible experience and since then I always use clear gel and if I hit my nails, I give them 2 days to recover a bit and then remove the product to check if there's any damage.

As a DIYer, I’ve had the greenies twice. Both times I had full cover tips that I just glued on after bumping my nail and losing the tip.  Now, if I ever happen to lose one (which barely ever happens anymore), I do a full prep on the nail and under the tip before a proper reinstall. They are annoying, but part of the learning process, I guess.

Wow this model really REALLY should have taken up that offer! A nail tech with this kind of medical treatment training offering the service for free. And she has GORGEOUS natural nails and enormous nail bed length so they likely grow very fast too! Probably a month later and she could have come back for extensions on the less affected nails and a clear coat for the really bad ones. But no. She knows best 😅😭😭😭 also, why play dumb, any nail tech, hell, ANY professional in an industry can see the clear signs of what's happened already, why bother feigning ignorance when you KNOW what's up 😂😂😂😮‍💨
